it's so amazing to watch the environment change. From sandy dust, to orange mud and grassy hills, all set to the backdrop of amazing mountains with snowy tops and a clear blue sky... You, sir, have lived a pretty exciting life so far :)

Was up there in 1990 in an old Renault 5.some scary drops if you come off! Went past elton johns house if i remember correctly.

Beautiful country. My buddies & I ride enduro also, but the scenery here in central Texas is far from that. We have to travel 15 hours to see mountains. Colorado, Mexico, etc We ride KTM 950 Adv, BMW GS, KTM 450xc, 300xcw. We love our European bikes.

On some tours you have a second guide acting as a sweeper, on others, everyone is supposed to look for each other and be aware.

That's a tour, you have a guide, you cannot go faster than him, it's 6 days of 10 hours a day riding, some easy, some very technical. Fall off on the first day and break a collar bone or leg like it happened to others on two tours I have been on, and you miss the rest of the tour sitting in a hospital somewhere.

When riding on rocky, loose surfaces, your hand is the traction control. You constantly have to adjust to how much traction you have. Gas on when there is grip and off when it gets loose. Speed isn't the thing here. Crashing can mean the end of a very expensive trip and possibly having to rely on medical facilities in a third world country.

Not for a day, you will need half of that just to get out of the ferry and through customs.

Plusing speed questions, but a little different way - why all your road is "RRRAwrrrr..RRRAwrr", I mean, I dunno, how do they ride cross bikes, but i thought it's almost always full throttle, and your driving is - open, close, open, close... even on straight pieces of the road.
