Nice to hear your review on the mitas tyres . I have been running the E12/13 tyres for two years now & just purchased the 23’ 890 r adv . Swapped out the front E07+ for the E13 with a 4mm tube ( cannot believe you are chancing it without a tube , they are TT tyres 😳) . Once there scrubbed in and took the sharp edge of the side they really are a great tyre on /0ff road . So much confidence in the wet stuff . I left the E07+ on the rear for now as it’s done very well in the conditions so far . Keep up the good work with your reviews 👏

Thanks for posting, interesting. Haven’t tried the Mitas so I now have a potential alternative. I will say I have the same bike as you and running the TKC 80’s (two sets) and I can get 5K miles out of them. Not afraid to run them to the wear bars though.

The TKC 80s are great tyres and I’m sort of missing them. Nice to try a change though and I’m looking forward to some more miles on them.

Check out the shinko 705's. I love them in mud, snow and tarmac. Sand, not so good.

Likewise good to see you back, I’m also really new to the same bike as you and totally new to off road, am bout to change out the stock tyres and have been looking at the Mitas and the Motoz Rallz 🤔🤔 you mentioned about setting your suspension etc for the journey and then off road, if you get the time could you do a video on how you set you suspension up from sag to the on/ off road. Good to see you back! I ran E13 E12 combo on my now departed 790 on the narrow wheelset (with tubes) and loved them - the same wheelset will go on the 23 890 when that comes in a few weeks as well. Be interesting to hear your thoughts on the tyres on the 1290 SAR (awesome bike!!) as i need to change the ones on mine but undecided what to go to?

The Trailmax Missions are fitted ready to ride but concentrating on the 890 this week as I have a trip next weekend. Done a few miles on them and they are certainly much quieter than the Battleaxe standard tyres. Have some extra protection to put on the 1290 then will give the dunlops a go off road.

Thanks- just make sure you put a tube in the E13- that's another story!! There are lots of routes for Salisbury Plain- just google Salisbury Plain GPX. The Klim Explorer route can be found on the Adventure Bike Rider website, though we gave up on it as it was too road based. I've actually gone back to the Continental TKC 80 tyres after issues with the Mitas on the front- didn't realise how much I loved the Continentals

How did you fit an E13 on the front as it's a tubed tyre and, from what I can tell, you've kept the standard tubeless rims? Have you used an inner tube (assume yes), and how was that on a tubeless rim?

Hi and thanks for watching. You made me question myself there, so went outside to double check it really is an E13! It is. Fitted by KTM and it’s tubeless. Got a bit worried there!

Ok, well an E13 is definitely a Tubed Tyre only. So you've either had a tube fitted or not. You can run a tubed tyre on a tubeless tyre rim (the standard rim on an 890R) with a tube. If you don't have a tube they might not have sealed properly on the bead. There may be air leaks. So keep an eye on the pressures and ride safe. If you like them and don't want to run tubes (and swap your rims) then Mitas do an aggressive Tubeless E09 that might serve.

Mitas E13 is the BEST offroad front tyre money can buy! On-road..... who cares? They work fine there though...

Hmm, I've an E13 on the front E09 rear on my 450EXC and I could list probably 30 better front tyres for offroad starting with every MX tyre and aĺl the FIM enduro tyres, for an adventure tyre it's okay and fairly good on the road but best it sure isn't. The only reason I fitted them was for a long trip, usually I run Metzeler 6 days Extreme or the Metzeler 360 but the lifespan is somewhat short.

ADV Noobie Exactly, the E-13 is part of the Rally series (though it's doubtful anyone would actually race with one) but it's hard to see where it's actually good though maybe pounding out 2000km in Saudi is it's forte. Compared to the Mitas C-17 it's terrible in mud, gravel, grass and hard-pack. For Salisbury Plain ( where I was brought up) I'd run a C-17 front and hard compound Metzeler 6 Days rear. It only takes ten minutes to change a tyre so I swap them out to suit the upcoming ride, this weekend it's a clay-mine enduro track so different tyres to the next weeks trip through Poland and northern Germany which is mud and mostly soft sand.
