I just went back from KL to Padang Besar via ets , then taking the classic train to Hatyai :) It was a superb experience.

The pace of construction for Kluang is pretty fast in this video. In your initial video shot at 11:33, it shows the new road link at Kluang already being operational and half the platform facing old Kluang being covered, while in subsequent shots, like from 12:27 onwards, it is still showing the same platform as fully open and the temp road still in use. Within just 1-2 months, such a change is pretty good already. Keep up these great videos. 👍

Nice capture of the EDTP key areas! By the way at 21:46 to 21:49 you can see my black car at the food court, on the right next to the small toilet building. I was just finishing my lunch before heading back home and you can see me and grandma heading to the car. I was also spotting Ekspres Selatan 42 which passed through the area at 1245 hours. Thanks SCM for the wonderful footages!!

A huge portion of this upgrade is elevated and it really looks like a HSR construction more than a regional rail construction.

Looks like it's a long walk from RTS chagar to JB Sentral to continue train journey up north. It would be very tough for older folks. Still, the most efficient route is from CIQ to Larkin Sentral and take luxury bus up north.

The HSR, as explained by others, will be serving towns on the other side of the PLUS highway, mainly Muar, Batu Pahat, Melaka, etc. So yes, it is still needed, despite the potential high fares. Also would like to point out that if the KL-Bangkok HSR is approved, and becomes operational, this would bring huge benefits for Malaysia, for those staying at southern end like Melaka, or even Singapore now have another quicker route to Thailand. And the key point is KL. So Malaysia can bring in revenue from them too.

@@namazlur78 it will benefit Malaysia actually. Because Singaporeans who go to Bangkok, or even the north of Malaysia by HSR have to transit via KL. There's no way they can skip KL in order to head to Bangkok. As for the locals, there will be a local rail on the KL-SG HSR, and will therefore, not be as expensive.

@@namazlur78 more passengers and tourists, Malaysia will definitely benefit too. Just like countries for example in Europe where HSRs are interconnected. But still, in the end, it's up to how each government plan to fully utilise and makes use of it.

When it's too far it's no longer feasible nor profitable by HSR. Why would one want to take the HSR from Spore to BKK or even KL to BKK if u can fly. Furthermore there are many LCC operating. Maximum time door to door say 3-4 hours then it's still ok.. Like say London-Paris Euro Star it takes 3 hours. But more than that say Spore-BKK 6hr, u might as well fly .. Besides HSR only benefits Singapore .. We can opt for KTMB ETS trains when the EDTP is totally completed.

Keep postponing the deadline from 2021,22,23.... looking at the status now, it is quite unlikely will be completed by the end of 2023. Malaysian speed!

I'm glad that they didn't paint the station red, blue and yellow. That would've been hideous. Delighted to see progress taking shape in Johor. Johor will prosper!

Between kluang jb, they should have one more track for commuter train. Otherwise like in KL, intercity trains sre held back due to commuter services. Two tracks not sufficient in urbsn areas.

I don't think another track is warranted unless they have Komuter svc like 1 in 15mins kind. Besides, they have loop lines & stations with multiple platforms between Kluang & JB like Mengkibol yard, Layang-Layang, Kempas Baru & Kulai stations. So the bypass for ETS, if needed, can happen here. Also Rengam & Kluang stations are elevated. To build additional tracks on these viaducts will definitely require more space & way more costly.

Setelah selesai upgrad ktmb di selatan malaysia bergeraklah ke utara sebab di utara masih lagi kena upgrad cantikkan lagi sebelum beralih ke pantai timur, kena ada perancangan juga bina keretapi di Sabah Sarawak melalui Limbang Sarawak, dinamakan projek keretapi borneo pertama

The connecting train to SG will still be the current Shuttle Tebrau as there is no point in electrifying the line to Woodlands. In time, this section to Woodlands will be replaced by RTS

there is connecting train now with the old train sets (Shuttle Tebrau), but not for electric train later on -- the problem with KTM connecting electric train to Singapore is that Singapore don't want overhead wire the original plan from KTM back then (from 1997) does include connecting to Singapore but their government insist that the connecting side need to use third-rail electrification, and that would need modification on our train fleets to accept both overhead wire and third-rail electrification which would add more to the cost (can't link directly since youtube will delete so re-type this link without the space: eresources . nlb . gov . sg / newspapers / Digitised / Article / stoverseas19970524 - 1 . 2 . 7 . 10 ) the compromise later on is the newly agreed RTS Link, where the whole connecting section is using third-rail electrification -- when completed later, KTM will end at JB Sentral and people will be asked to switch train to RTS Link to continue, RTS Link is currently under construction as well just like this EDTP

Finally, there are progress at Kulai Station.. Kempas Baru and Labis station not that much different as before... Even the new flyover at Labis also not finish until now

Sometimes they have contractor issues. The contractor was paid but fail to deliver. That is why msny highways take too long to complete. These contractors normally have strong political links.

Labis have huge changes, just not in terms of new flyover as they are now doing backfilling works to surface level. This takes time. The huge change is that they have added another track (down Main Line track) and have shifted train operations to this track as the older track now has to be modified to connect to the Main tracks

Apakah set tren yang akan digunakan? Adakah akan ada tren dari JB Sentral terus ke Padang Besar? Adakah KTM akan perkenalkan sektor KTM Komuter Selatan menggantikan Ekspres Selatan? Dan lagi satu, adakah Ekspres Rakyat Timuran masih dikekalkan atau ditamatkan memandangkan koc sleeper train dah berusia puluhan tahun.

EDTP Gemas to JB Sentral mungkin siap pada hujung tahun 2023 atau pertengahan tahun 2024. Projek itu lewat disiapkan disebabkan oleh faktor halangan seperti PKP dan keadaan cuaca yang tidak menentu seperti hujan lebat dan ribut petir.

@@matdanih tengok jenis perkhidmatan ETS yang disediakan seperti ETS Platinum, ETS Gold dan ETS Silver. Kalo ETS Platinum je yang tak banyak berhenti dan hanya berhenti di stesen utama sahaja.

Jika ETS Platinum itu memang tak banyak berhenti di stesen dan berhenti di stesen yang besar sahaja. Kalo ETS Gold pula banyak berhenti di stesen dari ETS Platinum tetapi ianya tak seperti ETS Silver iaitu perkhidmatan ETS yang berhenti lebih banyak stesen dari ETS Gold

Genuang is a operation station with Mengkibol, meaning it will only be used for train operations like a freight yard, not a passenger station.

@@darkpin89 ketika PKP 1.0 semua projek pembinaan dihentikan. Masuk fasa PKPB 1.0 baru diorang start balik tapi ketika itu bergantung pada hasil ujian saringan Covid. Kalo keputusan negatif boleh sambung semula kerja diorang. Lagipun kehadiran pekerja ketika itu tak boleh 100% dan mesti kehadiran 60% ketika PKP 2.0 dan PKPB 2.0

到时候,从泰国🇹🇭耒的高铁,直接接上ETS,或者東海岸新的铁路🛤️,何须高铁,高铁也只能跑160,老挝的才跑这个時速,所以加速建好才是上策!高铁永别了!

泰國還沒有高鐵,尤其是泰南部到馬來半島的高鐵,未來十五年都不會有!沒有錢,不夠客源,費用過巨! 這條高鐵的計劃在2035年前都是廢話太多!不必理!

泰国的这个高铁动车下来无法连接ETS,因为马来西亚这个目前的铁路系统是在英国人修建的米轨铁路基础上改建的,铁轨只有1米宽,从寮国泰国下来的高铁铁轨是1.435米。 随着经济和科技的发展以及人口增长,早晚会修铁轨宽度为1.435米宽的高铁,这是常识! 目前修建的东海安铁路铁轨宽度为1.435米!

it's the towns in between KL and SG that stands to benefit the most due to having a new rail connection, so unless KTM plans a line on a similar corridor on the coast, there is still value in having a line like this passing through places like melaka and muar despite it seeming redundant, there is value in increasing the rail capacity on this corridor to induce demand away from cars and planes which results in less pollution. it really just depends on the will of the gov of the day tbh

If the HSR project continues, the price of the train ticket will be very expensive. Maybe even closer to the price of a plane ticket. This will be disadvantageous because not many will use HSR services. Better to take a plane, only 1 hour JB/Singapore to Kuala Lumpur

Can add one more broad gauge track alongside current ktm track for trains up to 200km/ hr which i think is fast enough and affordable. Stops only at jb, gemas, seremban, KL.
