Can be cleaned effectively and easily. Don’t need replaced every time at all.

definitely serviceable. ive been cleaning the same one for a long time. i have a hard time getting them out of the line though, they are stuck pretty good. i destroyed one running the pick through the mesh accidentally.

Just bought a 2023 KTM 450 sxf and it came with a handful of fuel filters. I'm going to run a Twin Air fuel filter sock in the tank as well. Thanks, Jay!

I'm here with issues on my 2023 300xc 9hrs I fouled a plug , pulled tank to change it and I am hoping I contaminated my fuel filter in the process. Major bog on face of a 25ft table almost got me hurt bad. Live these new ktms but they make me nervous with new model issues and they are now a ton of low hour ktm bikes for sale 🤷♂️. Hope you have great luck with yours

Use split stream sock in your tank filler neck, you’ll never have to change the inline filter again due to blocking

Off topic question for ya jay. My wife is a tiny 5ft tall 115lbs , shes on a 03 xr100, she rides the wheels off it and is ready to move up to a better bike, I'm thinking ktm 105xc or kx100 or cr85rb or a brandnew yz85 and big wheel it. Shes never spent any time on a 2 stroke. I do plan for a heavy flywheel weight and bigger fuel tank. Which of these bike would you pick or any other suggestions?
@dirtbiketv14 жыл бұрын
Not a easy answer on this-- What you describe we have done for my 12-14 year old son when we went through that range-- there are no good trail bikes that are proper fit for her. Any of the 105cc bikes are really Moto bikes at heart --however if she is only 5' that is maybe the best option-- However I might lean towards finding a 200 or 250XC and lower it --then could do real riding on trail etc-- good luck

Jay what about just eliminating the problem by substituting a Golan or Zip-Ty fuel filter instead of that tiny flawed filter? Also WTF...Trap Town HNH?

Jay, what about the filter on the pump in the tank?
@JoshuaCussinsАй бұрын
You are susposed to change the one in the tank after the first 30 hours on the bike. Mine had 130 hours on it, then it stalled and would not start again until i changed that in tank filter.

Speaking of TPI models...Are these fuel filters set up the same exact way on a 2020 TE150i? I thought I was all ready to go on extra parts for long rides, but I need to investigate this further now...first time two stroke owner (this is my wife's bike and I have money down on a TX300i) and I've been tinkering around and studying all the components I can because it was all new to me...even embarrassingly blew our spark plug in the first 20 min of owning it! Haha Very fun little bike though!

Hi Jay, in your experience how long do the 17’ and newer 350 motors last? I bought a used one with 120 hrs. I did an oil change and found aluminum shavings in the bottom screen. 😕
@dirtbiketv14 жыл бұрын
Well I have a guy with a 350XCF with over 430 hours on it before its first tear down- Crazy but it all looks amazing. New piston going in -- never adjusted the valves

Dirt Bike TV “Go or blow” as they say. I hope mine will last that long. Thanks for the reply.
@buckettheadjones29354 жыл бұрын
Could be catastrophic or nothing to worry about it. Chunks and you're done. Poor maintenance, lack of oil changes, could result in shavings and that is never good but there will always be some metal in an oil change even if yoiu can't see it. Internal parts wear. That is why we have to change piston and rings. They are designed to wear. Gears and other internal parts not so much but do wear as well. I would be much more concerned about the color and viscosity of the oil. That, imho, will you what condition the motor is in addition to the shavings. Brand new oil and lots of shavings? Motor is toast. Dark, deanse oil probably means you just need to do a couple of short interval changes including all filters until the oil looks right. Before anyone jumps me for my opinion yes, it is just that. My opinion. There are WAY more indicators that could be baaaaad news but I find the motors are more forgiving for us mortals and non professionals than most people believe. Change your oil and filters when the motor says it needs it, not the manual.
