I'd love the Suprduke 1290R/1390R anyday over the MT10, but yes, its because I'm biased. Higher performance and low weight are appreciated, but that's not everything. In real life, the higher performance of KTM won't matter much in 99% of the places you'll ride, but it has an iconic image to it. MT10 is somewhat of a generic machine in my eyes, the kind you couldn't identify if you ride blindfolded. Both are great machines though, one can't deny this.

Nicely put together comment. Thank you. However, there aren't too many crossplane crankshafts out there. You can actually identify it blindfolded.

It is a tough choice between the two honestly. You have to have a bias to go for one bike over the other.

Great video. so what would i choose ? The MT 10 SP. Why ? As a daily commuter i would the easy of riding it cause i don't want to have to leave my bike at work just because i am tired and i can't easily ride my bike. Another reason why i would choose the Mt 10 SP is if i am buying a bike let it come with everything, meaning i don't want buy a package, just add them and use it as a unique selling point (USP) as to why i should buy your bike over your competitors bike.

Reliability is the main issue with KTM. Mt10SP feels more premium and can’t beat the cross plane sound
@KrishnenduKes2 ай бұрын
@@MaxTorque-MT I agree with the sound aspect. That said, the KTM sounds pretty darn good! As for reliability, we do not see too many KTM bikes coming in for repairs.

I won't consider the Yamaha MT10 SP and the KTM Super Duke very similar because primarily, both have very different engine architectures and riding geometry. I would say, the closest competition for the MT10 SP is the BMW M1000 R (as it's the SP version of the Yamaha). Now, if you consider that, the Yamaha still loses out purely from a number standpoint. That being said, I believe the MT10 SP is far more accessible and far more practical super naked currently in the market.
@KrishnenduKes8 ай бұрын
That is a valid reply. Then again, the BMW M1000R is not a bike that I can cover as of now. That said, the MT 10SP is just amazing! Just like the SDR.

Here in norway the MT 10 SP is more expencive than STD SD 1290/1390R. I have previce owned SD 1290 and now i have order a new 1390 🥳

That is interesting. I guess in some European countries, European bikes sell cheaper than Japanese bikes. In that case, the choice is really clear. I wonder how good is the availability of parts and accessories is for KTM. Thank you for your reply.

Dear friend, for the record, in the motorcycle content world of KZbin, I find your contents to be the most interesting and enjoyable to watch, start to finish… TWICE! As an owner of a 2023 R1 (Blue) and a 2023 MT-10SP, it is clear that I picked the one between the two that you compared…. Fantastic info I've got a MT10 2019 model thinking of changing to a Superduke R 2022 model your right the MT10 is a easy enough bike to ride but can be a little snatcchy with the throttle on times I've yet to ride a 1290 Duke R be good if you done that.

Thanks for your comment. Both are great bikes. I used to like the MT more. But with the advent of the new 1390 Duke R, things have changed. That new suspension is dope! I made a vid on that recently.

@KrishnenduKes Thanks been looking at the 1390 but speaking to friend in dealership said bit OTT the 1290 better bike but the 990 is great bike has everything except that top end 170mph which is the fun factor like hitting the 150s is enough for me so that putting me off have a deposit on a 1290 duke R against the MT10 so think I feel give it a go and hope for the best will let you know. soon.

The difference is one is a stripped down Superbike and the other is a ground up Supernaked. I almost bought a SDR but spoke to a few people in KTM and apparently they’re still not reliable. I think MCN has a few KTM long term bikes, the only ones that didn’t break down were the 790 (Chinese built) & 390 (Indian built)

Hey Ash! Good to see you here! Thank you for your comment. I am surprised at the reliability issues of KTM. Especially the SDR. That is their flagship street bike. We really do not have KTM bikes coming to the service centre for repairs. Only the periodic maintenance stuff.

The Superduke kosts 3x to inshure (in Sweden) compared to the MT10. Its not accurate that the superduke is lighter. Its 200.5 kg without fuel. MT10 18 liter tank and 212 fully loaded and the KTM has 17.5 l. Fully loaded the KTM stops at 213.39 kg vs MT10 212 kg.

That is an interesting take in terms of insurance. However, the weight you are talking about, I believe that you are talking about the new, 2024 Super Duke 1390 version. I am talking about the 2023 version.
