KTM125 XC Review // First Impressions 2021
----------------------
Dale bought this bike (my dad) because he wanted to try a lighter style bike. 2 strokes are known for having a lot of power and without sacrificing weight. This bike is amazing for trail riding, cruising, and much more. Watch the video for our opinion on the pros and cons of this bike and the upgrades Dale wants to do. Overall it is a great bike and worth checking out or at least comparing to other two stroke dirt bikes. It could easily be one our favorites to recommend as a somewhat beginner bike. It has a great balance between power and weight. Can’t wait to take it out on the trails.
This channel is dedicated to a father-son duo that restores old bikes to like-new. Looking forward to growing with you guys and seeing where we can take our projects.

All it needs is jetting, new Reed's and a 100/100 18'' rear, and extra left leg muscles for all that shifting

We’ll have to post an update video! Put a new 18” rear wheel on and a smart carb!

im interested in knowing your view on the bike thus far , i hate the low end burrr compared to a sx 125 from all the ktm xc videos ive seen . i grew up on motocross 125s and used them on trails way back. The ktm 125xc and the husqvarna te 150s seem to just lug to low in all the videos ive watched. that makes me think i dont believe id be happy with that gradual slow getting into the high end powerband . The Sx 125 seems to be more the type of power band i was used to in the day. Im wondering if the sx 125 could be used with some mods that might be more in tune than the xc that appears to dog before you get on the pipe. if you can offer any info it would be appreciated. I like the lg gas tank and the kick stand and elec start idea yet most of these enduro bike just sound like crap when the riders are trying to get into the high end. they all seem to sound like they are just bogging to low for my liking. am i wrong in my view ? i had enduro bikes such as mr 175 and pe 175 too but switched to motocross and got used to riding the higher power band back in the early 80s but then the cr 125s and rm 125s i had were used for trails as well and i never had issues with needing to have way more bottom end. thes new enduro bikes just all seem to sound like they are faulty in a sense . it almost seems like the motocross version might work rather than deal with all that mid and low jetting issues

My first time out, it was a great ride. Though... you are exactly right on the low end. The small bore bike wants to be on the higher end of the rpms. Depending on your style and clutch control, you can overcome it if the rpms are kept up. Although, I did put the smart carb on, so jetting wasn’t a worry. I’ve also purchased a one tooth smaller sprocket for the front. (Stock is 13) this is equivalent to adding 2 teeth in the back. This should improve my low end. We’ll post a video tomorrow on the sprocket difference as well as your other concerns! Watch for that video tomorrow, hopefully this reassured you a little bit. If you’re ever in Oregon, give us a shout ;)

What’s the advantage of an18” rear wheel?
@GenerationAerni
@GenerationAerni 2 жыл бұрын
An 18” wheel is said to flex better over rocks, meaning the side wall has better coverage. So the advantage is in trail riding, track bikes would usually prefer a 19”
