Accountant here: The reason things are expensive is because the stores have to factor in stolen goods as an "expense". We then increase the cost by however much we estimate was stolen. People complain about the price and blame it for why people steal, but people stealing is in part why it's so expensive. They're not stealing from big corporations, they pass that expense on to the consumer. We pay for what they steal.

It would incorrect for me to judge Mississippi as a great state because there are so few homeless. it's not about "shoplifted merchandise being sold", it's about "providing underprivileged communities with valuable basic goods" according to CRT

lol no, it's about shoplifted merchandise being sold. what does underprivileged communities have anything to do with this?
@megaotstoy3 жыл бұрын
@@xbexbe it's about "providing valued goods and merchandise at a sizable discount to low-income residents who could not otherwise afford them" ( Regina Austin, "The Black Community," Its Lawbreakers, and a Politics of Identification, 65 S. CAL. L. REv. (1992)) "Clerks in stores cut their friends a break on merchandise, and pilfering employees spread their contraband around the neighborhood. [This can teach all o]ppressed people when to obey the law and when to ignore it.' (Ibid)

@@megaotstoy I can't believe this is from an actual law review article. This is crazy. I'm a black woman and I can't believe this is actual thought. Yes, it is unfortunate that urban communities can't afford those items, but their are alternatives and so many .99 cent stores in California (well SoCal for sure), that people can get basic necessities at an affordable price. It's as if (maybe definitely) there is a goal to cause this chaos on purpose. There's going to be so much lawlessness in this poor land we call U.S.A.

@@SimplyCiCi894 here is another example of CRT logic, this time the topic is "joyriding": the temporary taking of another's car usually for the purpose of public posturing: "Joyriding" is essentially an abbreviation of "protest joyriding". "Conduct is appropriately considered a protest when the acts are openly expressive of an oppositional social or political point of view." Thus protests need not be verbal in nature. Minorities are especially likely to protest through "hidden transcripts" because of the danger of direct communication. A 'car is not just a transport, but a speech act."' Last, "the conduct was reasonably understood as expressive of a social and political protest." As a speech act, joyriding is entitled to certain constitutional protections. "Black youngsters should be provided what their parents can not give them: opportunities to learn how to drive and perhaps recreational access to automobiles." ( Dwight L. Greene, Naughty by Nature: Black Male Joyriding - Is Everything Gonna be Alright?, 4 Colum. J. GENDER & L. 73 (1994) )

Almost every video that you see of people committing these crimes fit a general profile. Its ashamed that people who do this have no moral conscious and respect for others property than this. I can imagine how they would feel if someone rushed into their homes, grabbed everything and just ran out. The moral decline of this nation is beyond belief.

I hear a lot of people complain about the high taxation, high gas prices, cost of living, high crime rates, etc. But, when I ask them for whom they voted...they did it for candidates who blatantly supported policies that created these atrocious conditions. Those voters deserve what they got. The ones who did not...do not deserve this.
