Is it possible to get the PDF and mp3 of this video for 0$ (free) to get an idea how the files look like? I am interested in buying a bundle on your website but I would first like to see the structure of the study material?

Your videos are the best i love the speed, the stories, the presentation and the sweet lady gesturing words and her voice is soft and clear and no unnecessary music or effects or talking just plain lessons 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I love that this channel has both english and spanish subtitles. as well as the characters and the pinyin. My mandarin is intermediate (at best) and I recently started learning spanish. so one beginner video watched twice (once for each subtitle language) helps me to reinforce both languages.

At 3:11 两个月后 the translation 'After two months' is missing.
@MandarinClick2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, Ronald. In order for the subtitles not to be too long, we sometimes split the sentences. I think it is the case here, and the translation for this part of the sentence should appear first as "Two months later,".
@RonaldBuskens2 жыл бұрын
@@MandarinClick Thank you for your reply. Yes, I'm aware that you split subtitles and I did check it, but I didn't see "Two months later", but I just checked it again and now I see it :) I guess I didn't check it well yesterday.^^ Speaking of splitting subtitles, in my opinion I actually prefer seeing the complete translation for the Chinese that is being displayed. But that's just me. Thank you again for your reply!

In this sentence "他们工作会很忙", what "会" mean ? Can we omit it ?
I love those videos but after a year and knowing all words up to hsk 2 I still have very hard time understanding sentences 😢 I guess I don't have enought immersion

Using past tense in the translation when there is no past tense in the original text is very confusing. Also - the english translation is often shuffled around and words are added/omitted for structure. That makes it hard for the learner, too. You dont know a chinese word and you cant find the translation for it or you see a word in the translation but its not really present in the original dialogue. A word by word translation
@MandarinClick2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback! Yes, we had to find a compromise: literal vs. fluent translation; long sentences being complete but covering the pinyin vs. sometimes split sentences that won't cover the pinyin; simplify and use always present time vs. past and variation of tense to convey the telling of a story and the time transitions. Every approach has its advantages and shortcomings, and we hope you can still find our content useful with this approach. :)
