A lot of western tourists complain how hot and humid the weather is in Malaysia. Some can't understand how locals can wear jeans and heavily cover up in this hot weather. BTW, all my pants are in the form of Jeans. I never go out in shorts unless for sports activities. Locals have very well adopted to the hot weather. As a tourist you need to acclimatize yourself. Having lived in Toronto seen 5 cold winters, I acclimatized myself quite comfortably. Seeing local Canadians with running noses and reddish noses with tissues in hand made me surprised myself, as I had no such issues, although coming from equatorial Malaysia. I even used to bathe in cold water at least twice each day, including in Winter. I am now a senior citizen and stiil bathe in cold water sometimes at 2.00 or 3.00 a.m. I do have a heater in my bathroom but I have not used it over a decade. They say bathing in cold water could have bad effects on your bomes. I don't seem to see this effects in my old age. Maybe discipline has played a good part in my life.

For that Cocomelon playground (and most indoor playgrounds in Malaysia), one parent/guardian is free with the kid's entrance; any number of extra need to add on as per need. I'm glad that you guys like KL, it is always good to know the cost of living in other countries compared to Malaysia. I look forward to your trip to Penang. The weather here is possibly higher in humidity than KL. Food here is generally cheaper but the portions are also smaller.. lifestyle is mostly laid back.. with the exception of the traffic which is a nightmare.. safe travels 🫰🏻

Penang has Australian military presence since the 1960s. Lots of properties that is guarded by them as they are mainly unused since the early 80s. Its under a defence pact with Malaysia. The Five Power Defence Agreement. Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore. So Australia can place the RAAF in the Butterworth Air Force Base when needed. The last time this happened was in 2004 after the Asian Tsunami. Just a knick knack to know 😊

Just bought like 20+ local snacks for relateives to try haha ... The thing about the clock can be like slightly different (at least 1 hour I think) as the country needs to standardize the timezone they are using, on the West Malaysia the Sunrise is about 7am but on East its could be 6am hence normally its a bit late at some place and a bit early at some place. I do heard before Australia (especially Perth) doesn't have much things to do at night so its probably the reason why people rest earlier and wake earlier over there as well (apart than Sunrise/Sunset factor). Other obvious reasons is the weather, no one likes to go out walk around a lot when its so hot outside during the day hence people tend to go about more during evening/night and probably this also influence the activities in Australia as well. Well, just hide around when its hot as much as possible LOL ... I can't bear the heat and himidity either hahaha

I get why foreigners mostly feel shocked to see us in jeans and sweaters and thick clothes in this weather but we've fully adapted and we spend most of our time indoors esp in the office, it's too cold in our offices with the A/C blasting like crazy. We even bring blankets there. 😂 Also, the modest part thing, people often asked if it's too hot in long sleeves/hijab, coming from a hijabi myself, most of our clothes and hijabs are made up of light, cool and airy materials so no it's not hot.😂

When you refered as 'morning people', what time did wake up and starts your day? Regarding shop open hours, you can get groceries from local market instead and grab the locsl breakfast from lots of stand alone shop or stree vendor instead. Shopping complex open at 10am coz they closed at 10pm. Beyond 10pm is kinda the red mark for the kids bed time for majority of malaysian family.

This will be good timing to hit the parks for runs or walks or hikes and then head off to the local Kopitiam or mamak stall for brekkie. Or you can visit local markets for the best n freshest produce at that time too. Most working locals start their day at around that time anyways. If you are in KL, check out the parks around like titiwangsa, FRIM forest, Mont Kiara park, broga hills, sg gabai waterfalls area for hikes etc. all within easy KL commute
