I don't understand being heavy if there's no groove. Just blast beats and unintelligible screaming. The guys that try to sound like demons or something is just stupid. It's just a wall of noise with no structure. Demons don't play guitar in their spare time. It's all so cheesy. Kl and KK actually have some decent grooves. And yell and growl like pissed off humans. Not mask wearing stupidity. That's one of the things that made Pantera so great. No masks, make up or dumb shit, just in your face ass kicking music that you could actually bob your head to

@@520angling5 texas, as does most of the USA has a history of white supremacist/american conservative christian politics and with that cimes american conservative christian laws. women couldnt even have their own bank accounts until the 1960’s, and our younger generations wonder why marriages used to last so long. as of recent, they passed one of the most invasive anti-abortion bills. as stated in the song, women are mothers, sisters, children. women are also human beings deserving of respect and civil liberties like the men that determine what women legaly can and cant do. one could argue that this song is a statement against the capitalist economic heirarchy at large and that there is no shame sex work while identifying the reasons one may engage in it or choose to not as well. i believe its telling that a government staffed by wealthy men who choose to restrict womens autonomy also view women so poorly when they aquire wealth thru the sex industry many other men are demanding and willing to pay for. regardless of what women choose to do with their bodies, no matter the circumstances and even if you personally disagree with it, they are humans who deserve love, understanding and fellowship. if this isnt what kublai khan were trying to say, then ill let them correct me. until then.
@520angling5
@520angling5 2 жыл бұрын
@@rarecandy3445 well considering Matt Honeycutt himself is a helluva lot more conservative then most hardcore frontman, I don’t think he’s exactly stating this only in the case of how “sexist” Texas is (even though it’s really not and that seems like a mislead fat left viewpoint). Most likely I think this song is about woman who have had nowhere else to go besides sex work, or being trafficked against their will. If anything, a more conservative government is against sex work/prostitution as there are more left leaning governments leaning to legalization of prostitution.

I don’t understand where people’s surprise at the lyrics are coming from. They’ve always been socially conscious. I will say however, this is one of the heaviest lyrically speaking I’ve heard in sometime. And that’s cause there’s no metaphor or other meaning. Its blunt real truth. Sickening. But needs to be said. Lizard Lots is no fucking joke.

"Swan Song" is a song by the band Kublai Khan TX that's about the harsh realities of life, both near and far. The song's vocalist, Matthew Honeycutt, says it aims to share a single story that reflects the thousands of lives lost in the sex trade system. The song also draws attention to the mental and physical damage caused by the sex trade in the United States.

Somehow a straight-to-the-point hardcore band has the ability to present the sensitive context surrounding these hard topics into their message better than most advocates for equality and feminism. Discourse through art and brutality. And don't forget, whichever camp you consider yourself being a part of (right or left), just keep talking, because no problems get solved without common civil discourse and cooperation.

First time hearing this band and god damn... Everything about this hits hard. Hearing this as a young woman makes me tear up, the lyrical content is brutal and heartbreaking and most importantly, true. Incredible work guys 🧡

Between the riffs, the pinch harmonics on the guitar, the sicks bass lines and riffs, and matts vocals this band in my opinion is untouched by many bands out there!

I never expected a metalcore band to go this hard in 2022. I was ready to give up and accept that metalcore is just pop now, but Kublai Khan had to release this banger.

@@520angling5 idk I’m still trying to wrap my head around Hardcore subgenres tbh. I just called them Metalcore because they’re heavier than traditional Hardcore Punk bands and they use metal riffs in their songs. Metalcore is weird because bands can pull ideas from any Metal subgenre and still be Metalcore as long as they still use some elements of Hardcore, so you end up with a wide range of different sounds and aesthetics. The best attempt I’ve seen to make sense of Metalcore is to use Metallic Hardcore, Melodic Metalcore, Mathcore, etc. as analogues to Old School Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Technical Death Metal, etc.

🤘🏼banger. Scott’s vocals were such a good addition to this. “Sometimes you gotta let the rough end drag.” Is such a heavy relatable lyric I think for everyone. However, all the lyrics are so hard hitting in this, it’s insane. Top tier music to start the year, and I’m loving it.

The reason this hits so hard is because of how deep the and important this message is. Its not just yelling about random vague stuff. Its extremely emotional and this message deserves this intensity.
