I really love how Kubo changed Orihime's character design throughout the manga series. As someone who collected bleach manga, i can clearly see the distinctive features and his style changes reflected on orihime. In early arc , she was girl in a simple design . But after that her eyes became more rounder, her hairstyles changed , much thicker and details. It is hard to realise in anime cause the animators didn't adapt the early simple kubo style , instead they used more mature kubo style approach

Kubo, himself, didn't come up with that new design. It was another key animator in the Bleach series, whom Kubo said could draw females better than he. Kubo then imitated his drawing style.

Regarding the 3rd scene that was changed in the anime for Orihime, it's not just thta Tatsuki questions Ichigo not taking Orihime home. The anime conversation is all about how Ichigo was with Rukia and Tatsuki assuming they are together, even acting a bit jealous herself. This is quite telling of how the anime was deviating from the manga. While the manga keeps it focused on Orihime and Ichigo and her having wasted a chance when he offered to walk her home and Tatsuki as a supporter, the anime not only pushes for implications about Rukia and Ichigo instead downplaying Ichigo and Orihime, but also goes for a more harem like trope of Tatsuki also being interested in Ichigo.

Orihime is the true heart of the series and very few if any hold true to her pacifist no killing rule to help all. Only KON has that due to his own traumatic origins. She's essentially brought her brand of the Geneva conventions to the the Spirit worlds, more so since all warfare there is fought without restraint and no mercy is the norm. Orihime alleviates that and her powers reflect that.

We see this when ichigo fights orihime's brother. This is why quincy are frowned upon because they actually destroy the spirit.

I would probably say anything beyond that destroys the spirit body and return them to the karmic cycle. This is why soul society don't bother stepping in knowing orihime or Chad fighting hollows. Because it doesn't change the karmic balance

I like to think that as his wedding gift, Oetsu gifted Orihime an Asuchi. Not that she's weak, but as a reminder that if she wants to walk beside Ichgo even if it means being a fighter. Reflecting her nature, it's sealed state is a Hanbo/half-staff that Orihime shapeshifts into a rolling pin for bread. When she needs to use it, Orihime clips her hairpins to the gaurd and Rejects that her hairpins are not a Zanpakto. Unsealed, it looks like Kenshin's blade, with the cutting edge on the 'wrong' side. Using all six fairies at once is what Hime-chan's Shikai is. She can swap what effect is where on a dime. So she can stab you in the head - it won't hurt you - and reject memories, or even skills.(Thank you for the inspiration, Tsukishima). Bankai turns Orihime herself into a human size fairy, and the effects she make are proportionaly bigger.

To break the bonds of all material things, reject damage done, and reject attacks; that is a very powerful ability that rejects principles of causality itself. In all aspects it is a power that could easily become strong enough to destroy anything or repair anything. However, not only is it a mental issue, I believe that since they're forming a "shield", I believe it still has some aspects of kido and reishi. Thus, the attack cannot harm or affect attacks of someone with a higher spiritual power than her own. That's why we see a shield that supposedly can block all damage be shattered by stronger opponents; or times when Orihime can't quickly heal damage done by enemies significantly stronger than herself. If Orihime had actually trained to raise her spiritual power, I believe she could turn out to be extremely busted and have the possibility of rejecting entire phenomenon, effects or even enemies existence.

​@Froggyquack That actually may not fully be true. Orihime was granted her power by the hogyoku, meaning that she and Chad likely have the soul kings ability to infinitely grow their reiatsu. Because we know for a fact that Orihime can indeed reject and phenomenon within reality in any timeline and alter it so long as she believes she can. This puts her at infinite potential in reiatsu output based solely on her emotional state. This checks out with her blocking Juha. She has the ability to achieve any power level she needs (from the hogyoku wish granting) but actively she operates at her trained level. It's the very same thing as her using a shikai or bankai. Except her releases are not on which shield she uses... but rather how much she wants the shield to work. So sealed Orihime clearly is very high captain level and somewhere around true shikai ichigo realm, shikai (her normal reflexive abilities) is at true shikai ichigo, and her bankai (when she's fully focused right now) is past Juha and at near full release ichigo (not Horn of Salvation, just full bankai) Since we saw her instantly restore him and deflect juha with not even a crack in the shield. It's honestly like she's like a zanpakuto spirit, which is really cool.

If Orihime's power is "not time or space rejectionf, as Ulquiorra said, but the deletion of events, then saying that she restores things to a previous state is innacurate. Imagine if you had a scar from an accident on your arm, and then had something tattooed over it - and then you asked Orihime to heal you. If she only rejected the event of you getting hurt, you would end up with an undamaged tattooed arm - which is not a state it was ever in before

From the start, Kubo probably had no romantic endgame for any character in mind. He has always been open about his dislike about writing romance, so at the very least, Orihime's one-sided crush was going to remain as such if Bleach met a more untimely end.

Btw, this isn't in reply to the anime team's action, just your claim that Kubo didn't have an endgame in mind. The pilot was more explicit in hinting that Ichigo likes her.

I don't think anyone questions that the anime team wouldn't know what the endgame was, however, in this lack of certainty, they didn't choose to play it safe and be faithful to the manga. Or even to be fair to both pairs in their treatment which would've been a possibility as well. They actually made wrong asumptions and made changes to those dynamics to fit their assumption it seems. And these involved cuts for one pair but also fillers for another, so they can't even claim they were being fair to both in their ignorance. And Simo kept it to 4 examples only but from the first 2 arcs I can think of at least one more change (if not more) to an Orihime scene too. I think that's what makes it seem almost like they had an agenda, cause if the treatment had been more fair between the two I think it would be less questionable.

Orihime got an insane amount of growth compared to episode 1. Losing Tsubaki and her convo with Hachigen/ Training with Rukia resolving to stay in hueco mundo/ Aizens comments about her stepping on gods territory/ bringing back the dead/ ichigo commenting on how strong her powers are when her Soten Kishun zaps him/ blocking Uluqiorra and her relationship with him/ developing Shiten Koshun so she can use her offensive abilities in a defensive way she’s comfortable with. All that being said I feel like her arc is unfinished and she gets done incredibly dirty. I say that as a huge fan of Orihime. I think due to time constraints and illness Kubo couldn’t do that for her as much as he wanted. I’m hoping the anime expands her fight scenes with Ywach and ichigo and maybe also flashbacks to her training in Hueco mundo so she finally gets more of a resolution. (Also hoping she gets at least 1 more sheild combo she’s got 3 more in her maybe we will see more in a potential hell arc continuation 🤞🏼)

It's explained the Can't Fear Your Own World that Orihime and Chad aren't typical fullbringer. The Hogyoku being near them and their constant encounters with shinigami Ichigo and Hollows awakened dormant Fullbring abilities(which was only possible because they most likely had a fullbringer as an ancestors since the Hogyoku only makes powers occur if they were within the person to begin with). It's the same way Ichigo fighting quincies awakened his dormant quincy powers

The anime tends to water down or just omit details. So the manga is the way to go. I know the anime is easier because you can put it on as background noise and pretend to pay attention when a fight comes up. But that's at the cost of being disinterested with the narrative.
