Thank you for a very helpful instructional video. My B2620 only has a single drain plug, in a similar location to yours (left side). The Kubota specs for oil quantity were high: refilling the B2620 after this oil change only required 3 quarts, not the 4 specified.

Nice video! For those following along, make sure you put the drain plugs back in BEFORE you add new oil. Also, consider using a diesel oil since this is a diesel tractor.

@@appalachiandiy2415 I use Amsoil diesel 10w-30 for my 2106, but a good quality synthetic diesel oil from a farm supply store will do a fine job too. I think Shell also makes a very good diesel oil.

Pretty sure he said to put the plugs back in before adding oil along with saying to wipe them off.

Didn’t tell the amount of oil needed
@cornillious14 жыл бұрын
That’s a gas oil. You need a 10w30 diesel oil. Gas oil doesn’t have enough antiwear additives.
@appalachiandiy24154 жыл бұрын
Interesting. Actually just spent some time looking into this. It seems that diesels have zinc additives "ZDDP" and some others to help with wear. Ill keep looking into this. Thanks for the tip!

SAE 10W-30 is fine. The metal parts don't know what kind of fuel is being burned.

10w30 Diesel oil isn't as common as 15w40 or 5w40. I haven't seen much if any. To your point, I agree you should run a diesel engine oil vs a 10w30 gasoline engine oil. Diesel engine oil is relatively cheap, and almost everywhere sells Rotella / Delo 15w40. If you need thinner oil for cold climate you can splurge for 5w40. I've ran Rotella 15w40 in my B3300 for years, started in 15-17F temps with 15w40 without issue. The diesel engine oils have an additive package more tailored for a diesel engine. Theres tons of good info on oils and additive packages in each on bobistheoilguy.com

Is your tractor a gas engine? Or using gasoline synthetic oil in a diesel engine? Yikes! I've never heard of a gasoline Kubota tractor engine.
@appalachiandiy24159 ай бұрын
No, its a diesel. I've since put diesel type oil in it. Haven't seen any harm using "gasoline type" oil.
