Thanks Jon! Really appreciate it buddy. Let me know when you get your rear remote kit, I know your really gonna love it! Really Completes the look of the tractor specially the side fender controls. Only thing is I'm not sure if/how the backhoe would interfere with the rear remotes unless they mounted them different for the backhoe models or bx80 series? The biggest issue I see is if your turned around to use the backhoe the rear remotes may be in the way slightly but I could be wrong.. I wish I had a backhoe to find out, Def keep me posted!

@@BiffsEquipment I might find out soon enough on the BX23s, lol. After watching your video, i somehow think i need this, but i dont know why just yet, lol. I guess i just enjoy doing mods to our BX23s and this looks like fun. I`m picking up a land plane soon, so maybe this hydro top link will be a pretty good investment for that. I can`t think of a better reason to do this just so i don`t have to get on & off the tractor to constantly adjust the top link by hand. I`ll have to contact my dealer an see if they make this kit for the BX23s or not. EDIT: Great video brother!

@@D70340 very cool! I’m 100% with you, modifying and upgrading these little tractors is a TON of fun, I thoroughly enjoy it and I know John Ritter does as well. It’s a lot of fun to make the tractor your own and add mods that you as the owner find most useful. You’d love having a cab if you plow in the winter and the hydraulic top and tilt is HUGE if your doing a lot of rear implement work.. it saves you a ton of time and labor for sure and allows you to do a better job as you can adjust it on the fly to tweak the implement to the perfect angle for a better final product when your finished. Best of luck!

Well you made that look easy enough. It's got me thinking if I need one. I would definitely like to see you get your tree sheer up and going. It doesn't look like it would be too bad of a job to beef it up. Now that you have your rear hydraulics, you could make the sheer adapt to the rear and have your grapple on the FEL. That would make some clearing jobs go pretty quick. Keep up the good work. Take care bro! ~Shook

Thanks for the comment Ron, I did actually think to myself the same thing.. with not having eyelets there isn't much room for side to side movement so ill be sure to keep my Messick stabilizer links tight which I usually do anyways. I'm not too worried about the cylinder as I got it for free so if it breaks or bends that wont bother me but what I don't want to do is break/crack, or bend the mount coming off the back of my tractor.. This would be my biggest concern.. I may end up going with a whole new cylinder when I finally buy a Top + Tilt kit so ill def keep you guys posted specially if I have any issues with my current cylinder. Stay safe out there!

Nice job and well explained. Did this install on my old BX1860 though the kit was a little different. Do remember it was real tight for turning a wrench. I may be selling my pushbox come winter though and if I do ill certainly let you know. This year I'll prolly be running an Artillian angle plow that mounts to my FEL. The pushbox did a great job but the plow would be nice for my driveway for the backdragging near my house/shed and to have the ability to angle it when plowing that first pass down my driveway in 1-2 feet of snow. Question: I noticed you use a lot of Harbor Freight Tools. Do the Pittsburgh open end wrenchs hold up for you? Heck, do the non-powered tools hold up for you? And if you were to do so (and maybe you could do a short video on this) what tools would you carry with you on the tractor out into the field? Keep up the good work!

Hey Edward thanks for subscribing, I’m really glad you enjoy my videos thus far! I try to make videos that will help other tractor owners out and try to show things they may not know and also enjoy working my little Kubota BX to death haha. The pitsburg tools have been very good for me so far, you have to watch with some of their plyers, needle nose, and wire cutters as some of them are kind of cheap and the rubber grips always tend to slip right off when using them.. but their sockets are impressive I have yet to break a single one of them and I use them in my Milwaukee cordless impact gun/ratchets all the time. Their extensions and adaptors are also pretty good quality and so are their ratchets.. I have yet to break a pitsburg rachet. As for wrenches I use gear wrench ratcheting wrenches.. I have not tried the pitsburg ones but have seen people who have and they have not had any issues.. I would assume their wrenches are as well made as their sockets so no worries there. Doing a video on my tools and what to carry in your tractor would be a great video! I’ll see if I can make one like that sometime when things slow down a bit. Thanks for watching!

PS. I was an automotive mechanic for most my life before I got out of the bussiness and started doing landscaping/tractor type work.. I use to own nothing but snap-on tools so I know quality tools and keep my snap-on tools at work.. I decided to buy/try the pitsburg stuff just for my home and for the money you really can’t beat it.. specially when your not using them every day for a living. The Icon tools are VERY nice and I would say in most instances are a direct replica of snap-on in many ways.. so if you don’t want the cheapest but don’t want snap-on go with icon and I promise you won’t be disappointed. 👍🏻

Would this work for a BX23s with Back Hoe? I'm sure the rear mount location and hard lines wouldn't, but if the remote valve will mount the same and main levers to fender would also work. Soft lines could be used to relocate the rear remote plate. Maybe there is a kit for BX23s with BH option, I can't find one.

Honestly looks pretty easy overall to install that kit. Probably pretty close to the same for my BX2680. I don't have anything that needs rear remotes but might be worth adding them at some point so they're there if I do get something...I've been thinking of getting a hydraulic top link to make adjusting my box blade easier, and it would make adjusting any 3 point implement easier anyways. I've also thought about adding the 3rd function for the loader as well.

Thanks William, your correct it really isn't too hard to install if you just take your time and follow the steps I took.. I put the kit together in my own order which I feel was a much simpler way then how they had described to do it in the manual. You wouldn't regret buying a rear remote kit or a 3rd function.. both add a TON of versatility to your tractor even if you don't have a use for them right away.. And with each kit costing less than $500 a piece its a no brainer for me. Let me know if you ever decide to get one and how you like it!

@@fx3vette1 hey thanks man I’m glad to hear your enjoying my videos! Always love when I can help others or teach others or even just give people ideas of what to do to their own tractors next! As for the rear remotes.. I know they make a rear remote kit for the Bx2380 they just don’t make one for the Bx23S (since it has a backhoe) so as long as your machine doesn’t have a backhoe then you should have no issues installing a Kubota Rear Remote Kit on your BX2380. As for not having the blank or open slots available this is the first Iv heard about this. Are you 100% positive that nowhere on your control panels on either fender have an open slit for these controls to go in? If not then that really surprises me that Kubota has done this and makes me question where the leavers would even go then. Your best bet is to call the dealer and tell them what your looking for, tell them your looking for the rear remote kit for your Bx2380.. they will be able to locate you the proper kit tho they may need the serial number of your tractor.. once they do they will be able to look at the parts involved in the kit as well as the Manual and should be able to tell you exactly where the levers are mounted and how they come through the fender.. they may have changed where they levers come through since your loader valve is on the fender Vs. being up near the loader frame like mine is so because of this they may have moved this slit or open slot to a different area on the control panel. I have never owned or even operated a BX80 before otherwise I’d surely be able to answer this question for you. Let me know what you find out cuz now I’m curious to know! Thanks

Sir, that was an awesome instructional video in every aspect. Even down to putting the sticker on straight. It would drive me nuts too, seeing it crooked all the time. 👏👏👏👏 Great job. Question, you used the bottom two ports to hook up the top link, why? And, does it matter the order they are hooked up? Also, and lastly, what are the top ports used for? Thanks again, great informative video.
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ronnie, thanks I really appericate the kind words buddy. As for which couplers to use, you can either use the top 2 or the bottom 2 as this new rear remote kit has 2 leavers.. each leaver activates 2 valves one valve when it’s pulled back and another valve when it’s pulled forward.. so it doesn’t matter which 2 you use so long as you use either the 2 top couplers or the 2 bottom couplers at the same time. You can’t use say the top coupler and then the one all the way on the bottom because those two couplers would be on different circuits on each valve. I only used the bottom ones because it was closer to my cylinder so I’d have to use less hose when I finally did cut them to length but that’s the only reason. I’m glad you enjoy my instructional videos, I hope they help out many people in coming years. Best of luck!

Yes I am, iv got 2" rear spacers on just the back.. adding wheel spacers to the front of a tractor does nothing for stability as the front axle pivots.. You can still choose to add some smaller 1" spacers to the front though just for looks which I have debated doing myself. @BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 жыл бұрын
So a rear top link can be useful when connecting rear Impliments specially if you have a “Quick-Hitch” like I do.. if you don’t have one then I highly recommend it.. they can be purchased for about $150 and will save you so much time and energy when connecting rear impimenrs and having s hydraulic top link allows it to work even easier.. I also plan to use the top link for a grader box and back blade when I buy them so that when I’m grading I can adjust how much material I’m cutting from the ground on the fly by adjusting the angle of the implements via my hydraulic rear remotes Vs. having to keep getting off the tractor just to make minor adjustments with a wrench every time I need to so it’s also a huge time saver for that as well. I plan on getting a hydraulic side link soon as well which will allow me to also tilt my implements side to side again with out having to manually adjust it

@@BiffsEquipment Thanks, I've been looking at the kit and it seems like it's possible to actually mod this to fit a BX25; it would involve moving the existing "tank" line from the BH to a "T" on the tank line from the FEL since the tank line from the BH goes into the port this valve set plugs into. Obviously the line positioning would interfere with the seat but I wanted to put a line set in back and a line set in front so I'd just have some hoses made up. It can be done with the BH retaining full functionality, just takes a little bit of replumbing. Of course, the valve fitting with the BH subframe is a different story; might have to mod that just a tiny bit.

@BiffsEquipment 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tekker, so the cylinder works well, but if I could change it I would add maybe an extra inch or two in cylinder length as it doesn’t tilt down quite as far as I was hoping but for a free cylinder I just had laying around Iv been very happy with it.. I do plan to buy an actual top link cylinder for it tho eventually because the cylinder I have now does not have pivoting eyelets on either end which can cause an issue down the road if it has a huge amount of side load applied it could potentially crack the ends on the cylinder so this is the main reason for eventually buying an actual top link cylinder from tractor supply or what have you but in the meantime I have had no negative affects using this cylinder like it was. Hope this helps!

@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 жыл бұрын
The reason Messicks told you this is because they technically don’t make a kit they are correct, they say this because since your model has a backhoe the rear remotes may interfere with the backhoe so because of this they will not sell you a kit for a backhoe version. If you want to try a kit and see if it will work with your backhoe then you need to call Messicks back and tell them your looking for a rear remote kit for a “BX2380” and let them know which style of rops you have; there are 2 different styles.. that is the kit you’d want if you tried it but I’m pretty sure it will interfere with your backhoe but you can prolly make a custom fittings bracket and some soft hoses coming off the headlines to relocate the rear rear remotes to somewhere higher on the tops where it wouldn’t interfere with your backhoe. Hope this helps! Best of luck 👍🏻

Hey Dany, you’ll have to go online or possibly try your local tractor supply. I don’t have a part number for the exact cylinder I used because this cylinder actually came off a snow blower. The cylinder actually isn’t the right type for a 3 point hitch. A 3 point hitch should have a ball and socket on each eyelet and not just a regular welded eyelet. Do you know if there's a factory valve option required to run a hydraulic top link? I'm working on a Kubota B2601 build on their website to submit to my local dealer. I wanted a hydraulic top link after seeing videos on how handy it is when using a box blade, which is one of the main uses I have for the tractor. I've asked a dealer rep about it, and he said he'd never even heard of a hydraulic top link, but also said he was still learning about tractors in general. On the website build it has the option: Hydraulics/Hitch/Drawbar" Mounting Base with Valve Kits None 1ST POSITION VALVE KIT (B1654 & B7304) PLUS 2ND POSITION VALVE KIT(CHOICE OF VALVE FOR 2ND POSITION) (B1654 & B1655 & B7304) I asked the rep on the phone about these options and whether or not they were required to install a hydraulic top link. I could hear him ask someone in the background and I heard that person say "he doesn't need them unless he's running large, multi-functional farm implements which he won't be with the B2601". I've been trying to research how the heck I can add a hydraulic top link, but info is difficult to find to say the least!
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Hey man, tbanks for the question.. yes there are certainly hydraulic top links you can use, the Kubota rep you talked to didn’t know what he was talking about. The issue is Kubota themselves don’t sell a factory hydraulic top link, they will only be able to pull up the factory one. What you need to do is bring your original top link to a hydraulic cylinder store, even one like tractor supply should suffice and get a hydraulic cylinder that matches the length of your threaded cylinder fully shortened and make sure the hydraulic cylinder matches it when it’s fully shortened.. then make sure your eyelet diameters are the same size and you should be all set. You can also fully extend your factory top link and find a cylinder that matches the legth when fully extended too.. you bascislly just wanna mimic the size of your factory top link with any hydraulic cylinder that matches it and slap it on.. it doesn’t have to be made by Kubota, any hydraulic cylinder made for top links with those special eyelets that swivel will work so long as it matches your top link at the shortest measurement . Best of luck!

Do you or anyone reading these comments know why they say this kit will not work on the BX25D? (backhoe version) I'm guessing where the bracket mounts on top of the fender it would cause it to interfere with the hoe in some way? If that's the case would rubber hoses and a slightly different mounting bracket resolve the issue? Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated.
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, great question! Yes the issue is that the rear remotes would interfere with the backhoe and the lines and mounting bracket would be in the way of your legs and may even stop the seat from sitting properly when it’s turned around. I personally have never owned the backhoe model so I can say for sure if using rubber hydraulic hoses and moving the mounting bracket would fix this issue or not but one issue I know you would have is connecting all 4 hydraulic lines to the hydraulic valve that gets mounted tightly under the fender.. there is JUST enough room to install all the metal lines so there certainly wouldn’t be enough room to do all rubber lines as they are so much thicker.. you may be able to make your own custom hard pipes tho and use some special angled fittings to get the ports to come out more from the valve and once you do that then you may be able to attach rubber hoses from there but it would be a lot of work. I’m sure it’s not impossible tho. Moving the bracket itself would be easy but the valve has to stay right where it’s at as it connects to the side of the trans where it returns the oil back to the reservoir
@acdii
@acdii 2 жыл бұрын
Too bad the B2410 didn't have this option. There is/was a rear remote setup, but nothing like this as a full kit, nor slots for levers in the fenders. The reason none of the fittings going into the hydraulic block or hydraulic valve didn’t need thread paste is because those were all O-ring fittings where the ones with thread paste are just like a standard pipe thread.
