Note to self; don’t snowblow a BBQ wheel 😉, but seriously I think you do have a wobble on the main shaft, if you look at the video @21:34 the shaft on the left wobbles but not the shaft on the QConnect 🤷🏼♂️, like said it might be a bearing loose. Good luck and have a great weekend 🙋🏼♂️🙂👍🏻

From here it sounds like you have a bearing that is going once it is under load. Might be a universal or one of the blower bearings. Get it cleaned out and free of snow and check for play. Good luck, those driveway repairs in the cold just suck, get warm.
@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
Thanks David. Sure seems like that for sure. I know it's not on the blower as I can replicate it without the blower attached so that good, but you are probably right about it being a bearing in the KConnect. I'll check it out in the spring. It was easier working on the driveway as the shop floor was too wet to lay on. :) But yes, still cold. Have a good weekend.

It's great that shear pins protect the auger and impeller in case you get a barbecue wheel lodged inside. It's the Mysterious chatter. If it's bearings I would expect something to break before you get around to fixing it in the springtime if you continue to use the snowblower. You are on the right path to figuring out the issue. If you detach all components then reinstall and test them one at a time it might be easier to determine the faulty part. Good luck and enjoy the rest of the weekend Ross!

Why do you have to be so sensible Paul! Jeez... I just want to blow snow! I don't want to take things apart again... I'm sure it's something to do in the KConnect. So I'll ignore it until it fixes itself, or.... Breaks more :) how bad can it get?... Please don't answer that. Haha.

You had some nice souvenirs from your neighbors yard. That's why I walk where I'll be plowing in the fall, before I start plowing. It is hard to tell in the video, but it looked like you had some wobble in the drive shaft (the drive shaft you removed). I could see a bit of the drive shaft in a couple of shots. Perhaps something got bent when your first shear pin broke.
@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
Ya I'm definitely thinking that's it. The shaft is wobbling for sure.

Hey Ross, I'm no mechanic, but in the video when you removed the plate. the shaft (spinning under the tractor) was shaking quite a bit and there was a slight grinding noise as well, maybe something close by was rubbing. Glad you were able to clear he debris and finish the driveway.

@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
That's a very good possibility, I'm sure it's something like that along the driveline. I am glad it's not the tractor or the blower at least. Have a good weekend
@GardenTractorBoy Жыл бұрын
That is incredble how it managed to eat the BBQ wheel. It looks like a vibration is causing the chatter which I would think is not normal and likely lead to bearing problems assuming it is not a bad bearing causing the vibration. If it is not a bearing I wonder if the auger or impeller is bent slightly putting it out of balance
@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
Hello, I know it's not the blower because I can replicate the issue when the blower is disconnected, so it's definitely in the KConnect so I assume it's a bearing or pto shaft

Similar to picking up dog toys before mowing..not running over BBQ’s is a good idea. Hope you figure out the chatter problem.
@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
Very true, and I'll have that to watch out for in the summer... I believe the chatter is coming from the KConnect where the PTO shaft meets the connector because I can replicate the issue when the blower is disconnected so that's good 👍

How's she goin'? I like how you guys are trying to track down this noise, step by step. That's the way to go. Sounds like some is hitting some where. Or a balance trouble. I wonder when you broke the first pin, there was quite a bang then, did a balance weight fall off some where.
@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
It's only in the KConnect because I can replicate the issue while the blower is disconnected. So that's a separate issue to the breaking of pins. They are doing the job. :)

@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
Haha you are right, and I'm really wanting to eat stuff "off" the BBQ instead of eating the BBQ... I'm sure the chatter is from the KConnect and a pillow bearing and maybe the PTO shaft
@tractortalkwithgary1271 Жыл бұрын
Wow Ross! Could it be that the impeller or perhaps the pto shaft are bent slightly because of balance issues?
@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
Hi Gary, ya I think that's exactly what the issue is, there is a tiny margin where the vibrations happen, so I think something in the K Connect driveline is slightly off.

Hi Ross on the land I can't believe you hit a BBQ wheel. How did you hit a BBQ wheel. It's not like they fly in the Sky and fall on the driveway. When I snow blower with the cub cadet 2x snow blower. I always pick up Sticks in the driveway. Or if there are sticks in the snow on the driveway I would plow it. Then sometime get snow and use the snowblower. I would rather buy a johndeere 318 49 snowblower. Not a Kubota bx1880 snow blower. 4,000 I can't buy it. Buying a garage building this spring. That's it . Never buy a johndeere x580.
