Good video, I saw that there was some comments that said why do a video if you have never done this. My answer is that is why you do videos. I bought my BX23S 5 years ago and ordered the Easy over Deck. Kubota delivered it with the standard 60" mower deck. What a pain in the ass to install. After calling and and letting them know they quickly replaced it with the right deck. Initial install was supposed to take 30 mins and took me a 1/2 a day to just get the bracket on and the "easy over mower deck" attached. 5 years ago since it was a relatively new item there wasn't a lot of videos. The Kubota dealer I bought the tractor and attachments from went out of business and the Dealer in the next town wasn't very helpful since I didn't buy from them. No luck following the instructions on the manuals that don't really make sense. I was on my own. My solution was manually slide the deck under, use jacks and blocks to raise or lower and get everything locked into place so i could cut my grass. Easy Over Mower Deck, Not So Easy!!! Finally found a couple of dealer videos that showed how to mount and unmount. They made it look super simple. It's all about how you have everything setup, once you figure that out it's a piece of cake and takes little to no effort to drive on and drive off. Wished someone would have produced videos of an average person doing it 5 years ago. As far as working, it is awesome! I have 180 hrs on my tractor most of those is used cutting weeds and grass on a 3 acre property. I have not changed the blades or had them re-sharpened since i got it. Always get a clean crisp cut and it does excellent at mulching the pieces.

I just ran across this video today and it is interesting to be sure. I currently have another brand of subcompact tractor w/FEL and BH and mower deck. My tractor spends more time mowing and working with the FEL so I do not remove the deck every week. Probably once a month in the summer to clean thoroughly and service it. Mine does not have any sort of quick attach but it is certainly not much harder to remove and install than the Kubota model. I would probably remove the deck on mine more often if it were a quicker process just for storage considerations. Just my impression from the video but this does not look like a system I would pay extra for. It was another great video and very informative. Thanks.

Doing it for the first time you defiantly make it look more difficult (which is understandable) than it really is. I've got the same system on my BX2370 and as long as you do everything your supposed to do and in the proper order the system works great!

John Deere has the quick attach drive over deck won hands down. The Kubota drive over deck seems complicated and not as robust as the JD1025R. I honestly believe I can take off my LS MT125 deck almost as fast. Tony

From what I have seen it looks like Kubota still have some upgrades to make their system as good as the John Deere's system. I purchased a tractor from my local John Deere dealer, but wasn't looking for a mower to put under it so I didn't worry about the hookup you have with both mowers.

I wonder if you could somehow create makeshift ramps like the JD ones that stay in place or somehow weld these ones in a certain position (not touching the ground) so you don’t have to mess with them every time you take the deck off. Just food for thought!
@KenHartman-ut4kl2 жыл бұрын
make sure you keep the rpm s up, you need the power to get and over the small ramps. a small 2x2 piece of wood at the bottom of the ramp also helps take out the climb over.
@EeyoreDavey5 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's just me, but on my 19 year old Kubota, it takes me 3 minutes to lower the deck, pull the 2 pins and disconnect the PTO, raise the 3pt, lift the front of the tractor with the bucket and then just slide the deck out. If I really want it easy I spend and extra 30 seconds and pull the pins on 4 wheels so the turn and the deck just glides out.
@GoodWorksTractors5 жыл бұрын
I don't disagree with you. I think I even mention in this video that removing things is always easier than reinstalling. Reinstalling is not nearly as fast. I don't care what brand of tractor it is either as the old John Deere slide from the side share the same concept as Kubota. I've never reinstalled a Kubota deck in 3 minutes, but I'm gonna practice with this Easy Over and see how fast I can do it. I bet I can get close.

i think the best comparison for deck removal would be against the X700 auto connect series.. Yes yes i know that the BX gets compared to the 1025R aka 1 series, but it is "EXACTLY" the same size as the X700 series and more comparable IMO.. While the auto connect on the X700 series is still leaps and bounds better then the BX... Sometimes you do need to get off and adjust the deck to align it properly. I know everyone will disagree with me on the comparison, but I had them side by side and they are the same machine. The X700 series even has a wider stance
@GoodWorksTractors5 жыл бұрын
Yes, physical size is closer to the x700, but still different machines. Garden tractor vs subcompact classification. Even with the 1 Series AutoConnect, I have to occasionally shimmy it around like I did with the Kubota deck. I really don't consider that a big deal though. If I get time, maybe I get all three side by side....by side :)
@petermarte705 жыл бұрын
@@GoodWorksTractors Be sure to take the loader and backhoe off and then you will see what I saw. They are the same "EXACT" size. I know they are considered in a different class. Throw a 45 loader on the X700 series and "BAM" now they are even closer. Just saying...

Question, is there some type of cover for the pto receiver on the tractor, keeping dirt out ect., when mower deck is off. Nice rig. Glad it comes in green. Lol
@GoodWorksTractors5 жыл бұрын
Good question, but I have no idea. JD doesn't have one and wouldn't be surprised if Kubota doesn't either. Might be best to take the entire contraption off when not needed, but that kind of defeats the purpose of quick connect.

Hi great video, nice to see someone do it for the first time and make a few mistakes. I did wonder if you'd actually read the manual first though lol. I think you mentioned how it would last going forward and my manual recommended taking attachments of to lighten the load before installation. Let's face it why would you mow with a loader and back hoe on?!... Had mine a while now and its easy to do. People always compare jd to kubota and in the sub compact area kubota win and at least its their engine!... Thanks for the video thumbs up... Keith

I’m of the mind set that neither John Deer, what I grew up around or Kubota, what I have now, is better than the other. Take care of your equipment and get what works for you. I have one, but don’t really have anything to compare it to. It cuts well, but is somewhat of an ordeal to take on and off. Also, I bent a bracket underneath and couldn’t get reconnected. The dealer had to install a new bracket. Depending on price might just get a riding lawn mower in the future.

Interesting vid. When I was first looking for a tractor and Kubota was my top choice. I noticed all the dealers would poo poo the auto connect decks. I was shocked they actually was dissing it and I mean every dealer I priced it. Even Messicks did a vid on top most hated attachments and auto attach decks were number 1. However one of my requirements had to be my wife could put the deck on and off. So....I kept looking and even considered other brands. I had eliminated John Deere just assuming it was too expensive. I found in truth they are all pretty close. Further JD the deck was standard and not sure you can even get a tractor now from JD without it. Kinda hit home that it had to work. Long story sort your's and TTWT channel helped me decide on JD and have to say that deck is easy to use. When they demo'd the tractor the wife went too and she can operated it easy as me. Have to say all the tractors are good, and when I started I did not have a dog in the fight so to speak, but JD rose to the top in features (that I wanted). It was a little more but when you amortise that diff in cost for the benefit over the life of the tractor not a real diff. Cheers love the channel keep it coming.

@maineoutdoors82275 жыл бұрын
Glad my Kubota mower deck isn't the drive over. Actually think it's quicker for me to take it on and off then all the steps needed here, which defeats the purpose of having it. Plus it cost more, less clearance, and all those extra parts under the tractor. As long as you're physically able to pull the deck out from under the tractor, I would suggest not getting the Kubota ride over deck.
