Kubota Zero Turn Comparison: The ZD1211 vs The NEW ZD1611

Just bought a ZD1211 and love it.

My wife has a B-series with a 60” belly mower and I have a ZD-331 with 72” deck, between the 2 we can cut 11 acres in 3 hours. Would be less if it wasn’t for fencing and structures. I bought the ZD331 in either 2009 or 2010 just had my 1st simple downtime, the generator/alternator locked up. 100 dollars and back going. Change engine oil at end of season each year along with air filter. Then every 2 years change the hydraulic filters. 15 years and still going strong. He did not show but seat also tilts forward which allow easier access for maintenance. The only thing that is a PITA to get to is the fuel filter. Cousin just bought a ZD1211 with the 72” and he is really liking it!

I own a zd1211 biggest problem I had was perpetual flat tires on the rear I replaced them with tweels. The ride was significantly improved with the rear tweels. I love them. Plan to replace the front with tweels as well. Note I have been running these for about 1000 hrs with very little sign of wear.

I started a few years back with the ZD331 60” cut……awesome mower . Work horse . Heavy built and strong. I used it for a mini brush hog later and it was great for small brush and yaupons . Still have it . A few repairs (from my abuse ) and maintenance and it’s still my go to for the rough stuff. Recently purchased a new ZD1211 60 “ cut . Super smooth ride, powerful and a beast itself. Love it . I have a 2014 svl90-2 also that has been great running a forestry mulcher and moving dirt. I’m just a fan of Kubota . To this point they’ve yet to disappoint me in performance and dealer service.

I put R14 tires and rims on my zd1211 to help with wet ground. Tires and rims came off of a BX23S. You have to add two inch wheel spacers to keep the same wheel width because the BX 23S rims have a different offset.

You should take a look at country clipper. I've owned two. Latest one is a 52" 26 HP. Looking at their 72" 37 HP. Serious mower built to be used hard. I mow slopes and flats on more that ten acres. Toughest mower Ive ever seen and I seen them all. Good Luck.

Nice over view. How much weight can the KUBOTA ZD1211L-3-72 pull with the hitch kit? Are there any aftermarket accessories that you can add such as a snow pusher or a yard dethatcher?

When using the jack feature, you did it wrong. One of those pins should be placed in the spindle of the grounded wheel to prevent articulation, and the wheel is 180 degrees backwards. Done correctly you get much more height.

Prices can vary from dealership to dealership, however MSRP for the ZD1211-72 is currently $20,999 and MSRP for the ZD1611-72 is currently $26,999

Wow with tax that's up there I got a gas 2012 60 inch that I want to upgrade to a 72 inch diesel my old kubota was 13 grand should of got the diesel back then I think it was 16 grand back then
