Thanks, Tom! For doing this 1000 Hr Review, is the first one on KZbin, so you'll get a lot of views from others like me who are interested in this machine.

Definitely get the extended warranty and make sure they do the software update, fuel pump update, and keep the hydro filter tight. I agree, the tippyness is an issue more than the width is an strength. They should build an scl1500 with a 42" or more width. Power is lacking, for the weight is well balanced but it's not for digging or heavy work. Can't complain, considering the competition. It's a back saver. I really can't imagine letting someone else learn on it. Too tippy!

The entire purpose of this machine or an MT100 or a toro or a vermeer is the 36inch wide stance, and to pack this amount of capability into such a small machine is amazing, if you want something less tippy you can use a sit in track loader Bobcat t450 or comparable.

@@libertyquest its yellow in colour, powered by a yanmar diesel, very comparable to kubota scl1000 with the wide tracks etc and power.

Almost got one of these but didn't want to be a beta tester.. it should be maybe 8 inches wider but for 1000 hours it seems like its done you alright short of the exhaust thats annoying to have the same problem 3 times. I was hoping they were going to be Japanese imports but I guess Land Pride is making these from what I was told. Nice review.

Great info and honest experiences. I have to agree on the narrowness of it. Could have gone to 42 inches and been a major improvement. Too many computer functions right down to starting it. All convenient until the thing won't start or the parking brake won't disengage on a job and the machine is stuck.

Great review simple, succinct and not too damn wordy. I see that you guys are doing tree work, which makes a lot of sense for that machine. I had one of my subcontractors borrow our machine for one day they tipped it and tried to start it and we had to replace a motor thank goodness for insurance but $15,000 later was a lot. I ended up selling ours after 167 hours . The hydraulics are faster. I love the connector system maintenance and dashboard indicators are great well laid out I like the security lock we are landscapers and the machine turned out to be too tipsy for us both for loading on trailers and going up hill sides the front and back rollers are raised by about 5/8 of an inch to make it easier for it to turn, but it makes it really bouncy, Kubota brought up the plant manager and head engineer of the engineers from Iowa to them actually and they acknowledged the Tippie issue but I think they’re too invested into the machine to change it. Ours had a serious problem with the control for turning. We ended up having to takeoff the rubber boot. If you turned it in then release the handle without manually turning a backward it would keep on turning that direction and all the good things you said about it were spot on I like the way it sets up. I think that it’s a marvelous engineering. What are you guys developed backaches when using the machine. As far as the mini skid size goes they are the best. Sidenote, there’s a guy up in Michigan that I had bought five of them spring of 2022. He’s turning them all in. I’ve been hearing more and more people say the same thing straight machine, but unstable and it’s not just a side to side motion. And I. Promised I would not post a video. By the way, the guy I sold the machine to he’s selling it also for the same reason I had two other tree guys about ready to buy my machine when I was selling and they didn’t because of the forward and back tipsy part as well. So you must have it figured out and how to operate it. Congratulations that looks like quite a logging operation.. By the way, that Kabota motors in our dingo, and we lost three mufflers in ours as well I bought a new machine each of the last four years.

It's so funny to me.. the small kubota tractor selling points always mention the metal hoods, but then these have plastic hoods lol

The people who design and make the final decision for production should spend some time on their machines in real situations to know 99% of owner/operator s would choose steel hoods over cheap plastic.

I have an early model like you guys. I had several small issues that I resolved. Unfortunately now BOTH of the drive sprockets split in half literally. They cracked clean in half. Soon they will depart from the hydraulic drive units. A sad day. I absolutely love the machine when it works. Scared to buy another though with this major issue

RPMs were too high IMO when working in the yard, especially with those heavy logs. Much smoother/safer operation around 2300 RPM.

I demoed one today and noticed an extreme lack of power compared to my Vermeer. I also didn’t like how big the control arms are compared to the Vermeer. I guess the only thing I like over the Vermeer was the price.

Thanks for the review. Other than having the machine wider would you also prefer if it had a larger engine?… maybe a 40hp, or do you think the 25hp was plenty?

@JuanChavez-ji9yy I wish I could help you, but I'm not involved with purchasing and really have no idea what they go for new or used. (We bought ours new). If you do find one at a fair price, I think it would pick up and carry 400lbs trees all day long. Good luck

Dealer claims it will pick up 2800 pounds. What are your thoughts on that?
@tomhendricks316
@tomhendricks316 Жыл бұрын
That seems high to me. The machine/hydraulics may be able to do it, but you would need more than one person for counterweight. I weighed a log in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqacmoJ_n8lsedE It came in at 1846lb. I don’t see it lifting another 1000 on top of that. Thanks for watching!

pretty brutal watching you operate that machine to be honest, jerking the losder, no control of the grapple, dragging tracks, knuckle loading the boom like that puts tremendous force on the loader, surprised it lasted 1000 hrs, typical tree guys

Jankiest controllers I’ve ever seen though. Kubota usually does a good job with their machines….but for $50,000 dollars (which is outrageous) I expect better quality on some of the parts on these things. Those controllers are like their #1 failure too. Most people end up doing their own wiring and modification on them or else it’s just a constant cycle of replacing those controllers.
