so what again do you need solar panels for? just mount em on top of your kabota cab.. and run an inverter off your starter battery. Drive the tractor around following the sun.. if the sun isnt out just start the tractor to charge the battery for a while and keep the cabin lit.

I wonder if the tractor would drift ahead as needed to keep the hole vertical if you released the brake and put it in neutral. I am surprised they didn't engineer it so the linkage made a vertical hole with out all that.
@SteveRobReviews5 жыл бұрын
Without the brake on it will move the tractor but to control the angle you must move the tractor . Skidsteers seem to do a much better job. Having another person there is a lot better letting you know how much to move the tractor to get it straight.

Nice ! Steve, two questions for ya. First one why are you mounting your solar panels on a mast opposed to on the cabin roof like on your shed, second question is how far away from the cabin are you and why ? Take care !
@SteveRobReviews5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Billy. I found the panels mounted on the roof not such a good idea for me . You cant clean them so easily or take the snow off. The cabin faces due south but the sun rises in the east and puts a shadow of about 10 feet on the panel side of the cabin so I wanted to get far enough away to catch the morning sunlight. I have 4 100w panels with 4 six volt golfcart batteries and planing to run a small fridge off it. Its a lot of theoretical math and assumptions but I think I can do it. I will show my idea and testing .

I love it but it's tough by yourself getting a straight hole.
@GruntGuitar4 жыл бұрын
Auger should hang plumb. Nothing to do with what angle the tires are on. If your auger is not free hanging, it is not rigged right. It is self-levelling on 2 axis. Not sure what you might be doing wrong?
@SteveRobReviews4 жыл бұрын
Not so fast, as the auger starts to dig the arc of the 3PH changes so no you can not just lower the auger and get a perpendicular hole completely vertical. Nice if it was so simple as the 3ph mount must be adjusted to the lay of the land in consideration of the back tires as well. Being level , on the horizontal is just as critical as vertical. It does not hang on a 2 axis as one might think. Cheers

Oh yeah, and shouldn't the big yellow arms on the auger articulate, or collapse in on themselves, so you don't need to move the tractor as it digs down deep?

Not quite, you must move the tractor to dig vertical . Having a helper giving directions works much better. On a skidsteer it's the best .
