Hello Craig. I like the sleep comment - Hmmm Did hear that on occasion before :>) Really I do have some pretty long days out in the shop. At the start of the video that was my old tractor in the back ground that I traded in and was switching things that I made to my new one. The guy from the tractor place said people were wondering what was up with it because it had a ton of hours on it and it looked like new. If you were to watch my train video you would see how much the yard has been filled and things have changed around here. Lotsa hours on the tractors here. I really enjoy putting these vid's together in hopes to help others out with ideas and money saving tips for a better life too. But hey, Thank You for your comment Crag, Hope to catch ya again!

great mods, that dumping bagger was my favorite,
@2jeffs110 жыл бұрын
You wouldn't believe what was involved to attach the bagger. One had to remove 4 bolts around the PTO shaft flange & install 2" spacers to mount their bracket. You also had to install different 3 point lower arms. Of coarse it's a one pin attachment now. They also had 3 hanging bags to empty. The first time I removed the bags to empty them I cut my hand. Arrrr Yep - it went in the shop and I have 3 new bags yet to give away....

What a super video Jeff. Your modifications are "top notch." You certainly are a talented guy Your ingenuity and inventive mindset are inspirational. Keep the awesome video's coming. Your view counts ought to be in the tens of thousands! Have a great Memorial Day weekend.
@2jeffs110 жыл бұрын
Hello lemmik1900. When you go to purchase attachments they never have a machine with them on or on hand and the brochures only have several pictures. SO when they arrive a few more tweaks can make them a bit better. After you paint the modified areas then they look store bought yet. One example - on that plow a guy that was here commented that that's pretty neat how they put wheels on it instead of skid feet. Really makes my day to hear that! The tractors have done a lot of work around here thru the years as the entire yard has been filled a minimum of 1 foot to almost 5 feet by the train tracks. That train video I have up is from the early 90's before any yard work was done here. Hope you have a great weekend too and Thank You for your comment!

Great video I enjoyed it. what you also could do with the sprayer is: spraying salt water on your driveway instead off dry salt.... the salt water works quicker... 22% salt on 78% water... you can mix it yourself (I do it) it works faster (the dry salt has to attract water before it works)

Hi Jeff This video was crutial for me by the time I was looking for my tractor. I love it! So I bought Kubota B 2410 with 3cylinder engine (second hand from England to my place in Czech republic, Central Europe). I do really love the tractor, but I thing it would be great if it could have more power (expecially for mowing with mid-mount mower deck and while using front loader) . What do you think, would it be possible to fit it with 4 cylinder engine that has for example B2710 and B 2910 ? Thanks for inspiring world wide ! Jano
@2jeffs15 жыл бұрын
Hello Jan. I like your way of thinking but don't believe that idea would be financially fesable. I did own a 2410 and experienced the same thing you brought up - lack of power. The 2410 was also under hyd pumped. They had a mod for when the machine got hot the power steering was weak. It helped but far from the answer. Well - off to work, neat how the whole world is linked together with this YT thing! Thank you for stopping by Jan, Jeff.
@tunintunin34176 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your videos, I have the b2410, can you please tell me is there a way to upgrade the hydraulic pump to give it more flow...? Thank you.
@2jeffs16 жыл бұрын
Hi tunin. I know exactly where you are coming from. I did have a 2410. That machine IS way under pumped and that was part of the reason I traded mine in. I compared the pump from the 2910 and it seemed not possible to switch to that one for some reason. (was back in 2004) However I do have some helpful advice. My biggest complaint was the power steering when hot. There IS some kind of kit they installed for hydraulic routing which did help the issue, much better but still left a tad to be desired. That was done for free when the machine was pretty new. Don't think there was ever a recall so they only did that if someone complained. Hope this helps you out, wish I could remember exactly what they did but never was explained to me on the correction/mod performed. Hope this helps. Let me know, been too busy here, good luck, Jeff.

Thanks for putting out these videos. You're teaching me a lot! I'm a rookie-rookie awaiting delivery of my used B3350. It's got a B2775 72" snow blade for the FEL. My concern is - will those factory 'mushroom' shoes damage my wife's awesome new concrete driveway? I noticed your blade has those SWEET adjustable casters. Did you make these or are they factory options? Maybe I should just pop for the optional rubber edge for the blade.
@2jeffs110 жыл бұрын
Ron Standley Hello Ron. Glad to know the vid's are beneficial. Ah - good question. I don't have any advice where I never tried that. Yes my plow had those shoes on originally and when they wore out I designed & built the jack mechanism with the swivel caster wheels. I will be putting a video up on that but it will be a bit yet. One thing I noticed right away is how it rolls much easier when plowing. Maybe test the skid's in a non conspicuous place to see. Kinda think the rubber edge might be the best bet. Oh yeah - that blade don't belong on this tractor either. It was from my B2410. It is about 6" narrower than the B2910. (wish I had that one!) Hope this helps ya out Ron, Jeff.
@ronstandley563510 жыл бұрын
2jeffs1 Thanks for the ideas and I'll be watching for your new videos. I'll check with the parts guy at my dealer to see if he has any caster parts that could work on that blade. Maybe some pieces of horse stall mats on the edge... Another 'noobie' question for ya - have you ever made up a checklist for going over a used tractor, or know of anyone who has? I think I'd find the obvious things to fix, but I'm concerned about obscure stuff due to my inexperience. Also, I see a B3350 shop manual up on eBay. Would you recommend I buy that? I used to be a fair mechanic, and still have my tools [plus a nice shop building] so I see myself wrenching on this tractor as necessary. As always, thanks for your opinions.
@2jeffs110 жыл бұрын
Ron Standley Hi Ron. Those swivel casters and wheels were from my 60'' mower deck. I think it was a model rck 60" deck. The swivels of course were modified. Maybe too light duty for yours, just trying to be helpful. I have a shop manual and parts manual for everything. It is a good idea to like you said - to periodically scan thru it to service things ya normally wouldn't think about. I like the parts manual where in today's times some company's hire the cheapest help they can get. It's good to know that when you make the drive to get the parts they will be correct! A possible caster source where I'm sure your plow is heavier - Mc Master Carr. A little heads up. I called on the wheels & casters to order. Didn't ask for a price. (figured $300.00) When I got the call they were in ah - $600.00. It is nice stuff tho... Have fun Ron, Jeff

Do you remember what bulb you used for your headlight replacement? I have a B7500 with the same bulb. I replaced the bulb with an equivalent LED but was disappointed with output of the light. I have a light bar to put on it, but am looking to further the light output of the stock headlamps.

By the way, how do you keep the under side of the mower deck from rusting? Paint doesn't seem to last and other things cause grass to stick or wash off easily. Thanks
@2jeffs17 жыл бұрын
No good answer for that one. Before storing I'll pressure wash the underneath and spray it with oil for storage. Once in a while I will do that mid season where it has rained so much this year and that cookie builds up.

When you put on the GM alternator, did you use the Kubota wiring harness that came with the upgrade kit, or did you make your own?
@2jeffs18 жыл бұрын
+Jon Stevens Hi Jon. No I didn't use the wiring from the upgrade kit. Might of used the relay tho, can't remember for sure. Actually I re-wired the entire tractor. I do have some pictures of that on my build your own fuse box video but nothing on how to wire that alternator on the vid. Those GM alt's are pretty easy to wire tho.

Jeff, I do have a question. I have a b1550 and I mow at 2k rpm. it uses .5 gal per hour (.49 gph to be exact), will running the engine slower cause damage to the hydro unit? I was told with small mtd type lawn mowers you should run high rpm to keep the hydro unit cool. Since these use the hydraulic pump from the tractor to power the hydraulic motor i wouldn't think it would be a problem. Your thoughts?
@2jeffs17 жыл бұрын
Actually I usually mow around 13-1400 rpm in H on the 3 speed selector. I have a hyd temp gauge and higher don't seem to make any difference on my machine. What does make it heat more is fast take offs and direction changes. Also they have swash plate drive system. They had problems with them when they first came out long time ago. Then they put a hole on the piston top which increased oiling on the piston top to eliminate that wear issue. You could buy a cheap laser temp gun and experiment with that to test temps out on your machine. I'm usually around 150-160 in the summer. I too like running slower than having the engine screaming. Always wondered if they recommend that so things wear out faster. LOL!

Hey i have the same tractor but the moddle smaller. The b2710 and i just mooved those 2 bolts for the forward and reverse pedals and i was wondering if this will be bad for the tractor in any way
@2jeffs110 жыл бұрын
Yeah the b2710 is a great machine. Same drive train just a few less creature comforts. I don't see how it could harm the system in any way. Set mine up when it was new. What I believe is they want the machine to go slower especially in reverse to avoid injuries to a incompetent operator. They do recommend the romps and seat belt use but what I like is where their safety start up switches are perfect. They make sense without an overkill! The switches on the smaller lawn tractors would drive me nuts. Especially the one where the mower blades shut off in reverse. These type things come about due to someone getting foolish and then we all pay the price!
@Deeeeeeeeebs10 жыл бұрын
Thats what i thought too. I just wanted to make that by pushing the pedal down farther than factory sett that it wouldnt over spool that transmissions gears causing tranny to over heat. Now that i think of it though i dont see that happening of how little it makes the machine go faster. Anyways thanks so much for the tip. My front pedal didint go down any farther but my reverse goes twice as far now and it has been great useing it the past couple days with this mod/tip thankyou again

@2jeffs1 at least with the older (pre-2012) vehicles there isn't the number of on-board computers and such for the car to be able to be hacked or even turned into listening devices for the NSA to use and Google doesn't quietly track your every movement on the road to provide their real-time traffic congestion maps without even asking you.
