I have the same set-up (without the box blade) except for the handle you put on the pump. Nice idea!

That is a steel pump, not aluminum. It is so heavy. 4 winters. Still going.

Brilliant. Exactly the concept I was thinking about!!!

Did you custom fabricate the tank? How large is it? Amazing design. Just like you, I use the box blade from snow more than anything. This setup would be perfect.

The tank was recycled from a mill scrap yard. I think it would hold 30 gallons full up. I keep around 20 to 25 in it. It has a slosh plate inside and a separator so return cant directly feed supply. Helps cooling. If I built it again I would have built my own tank to fit attached to the tractor. That way I could mor easily change out rear attachments. I have gone this whole year not needing to so I guess not a big deal.

I realize this was published a while ago. Great info and video and I am considering the same conversion but I wonder if my tractor has enough HP for the pump. What HP rating is your tractor?
@scottwhite2379 Жыл бұрын
It is 43hp, 38 to the pto.

How big is the drive motor on the blower?
@scottwhite23794 жыл бұрын
There are two. Not sur on size. Quick attach told me I needed 22 to 24gpm to run it. I wish prince made a 24 or 5 gpm pump. It would have worked better with my tractor torque curve. 2000rpm seams about right but for full flow, some times I need 2500

I'm using a 4.6ci drive motor and a 1.5ci pump. My current thinking is that I'll try for the max 16gpm at 2500rpm and be able to throttle down when it's not as loaded. We rarely get more than a foot of snow at a time, so the berm at the street is the only real high load I'm likely to see.
@MotivatedMetalworks4 жыл бұрын
Surplus Center still has 4 of these. It's like 137ft-lbs torque at 630rpm on 14gpm. 9-9512

@@MotivatedMetalworks my big issues blowing is that I need to re-blow my snow a few times. My 6 in storm turns into 18in storm on the last throw. Sure slows me down. My yard is on the corner of a 4lane road with 150ft frontage. Town dumps alot of extra on me. Waiting on a gauge to plumb in to monitor pressure so I can tell if I ned to adjust either of my relief valves.
@MotivatedMetalworks4 жыл бұрын
@@scottwhite2379 the flow determines speed and pressure determines force. If you're not operating at enough flow, the motors won't generate rated force until they're slowed down enough to build pressure. Make sense? Can you see any part numbers on the motors?

What size pto pump do you have
@scottwhite23793 жыл бұрын
It is a prince 22 gallon cast iron.

Is that a custom bracket holding the pump to the tractor?
@sawmill123456 Жыл бұрын
Where did you get the bracket to hold the pump???
@scottwhite23794 ай бұрын
@@joeholland428 yes. I made the mount. The bolt coming off of it is a handle to help removal.
