Sitting inside the hopper of a rock crusher AS IT IS RUNNING is definitely one of the sketchier things Andrew has done.
@TheSubatomicCheese
@TheSubatomicCheese 27 күн бұрын
And sticking your hands in the hopper trying to hold advancing rocks back as it's running. And trying to move it/get it unstuck while standing on a pile of rocks behind and having it roll back. One literal slip-up off those rocks and it could have easily rolled back on him. In the long run, that little machine is an accident waiting to happen if Andrew keeps it. A larger machine is more stable, easier to move (read as, safer), and could handle more rock easier (again, safer).

Honestly... it doesn't draw you in so it still seems one of the less sketchy things he's done if you ask me. I fully trust him to not get hurt as long as he's paying attention, I just hope there won't be a day when he's a little bit off his game...
@Splunkzop
@Splunkzop 27 күн бұрын
@@rider573 I was thinking he would be setting up a ramp to drive it off the pallet without tipping it. Next thing he does is tip it over. Sitting on the machine while it is running? If he does stupid things all the time, how is he still alive? How does he still have all his limbs? If he is that lucky, he should buy a lottery ticket.

hey Andrew, I used to work in an aggregate mine that ran jaw crushers, and we had one of the largest ones in our company. the jaws on that mini one don't look like they're any sort of special material, maybe cast steel. you should most definitely be wary in that sense because with harder rocks (granite, etc.) are prone to shooting back out of the jaws. one thing we do to minimize that chance as much as possible, is our jaw plates are chrome steel-structured and manganese-faced. if you're looking into keeping that unit long-term (which I wouldn't recommend, by the way. it's laughably undersized) is to definitely look into those types of jaw plates for your own safety, others' safety, and the longevity of your crusher

Thanks for sharing. I get the uses but just buying the stone would be cheaper. This is especially true with parts quality and availability. It was fun to watch.

The oil bath air filter is a good call on a rock crusher. You don't see those too much anymore.

I mean... it's a rubbish design that doesn't make an iota of sense. Who'd even need a crusher that narrow gauged? Is it for mine operators in the 19th century, operating rock crushers inside coffin levels? It's stupid and top heavy, should've had bigger and wider tracks. For once, it's not his fault.

5:43 Brand new its never been greased’ It’s tracked over 2 metres and 1.5 meters of that was on its front idler at an ungodly angle so technically speaking she’s second hand Andrew 😂👍🏼 Quality intro 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 You were clearly overloading that little engine Andrew perhaps only fill half the skip before putting the next bucket in might help. Also perhaps invest or make a riddle bucket for this machine so less fines / contamination go through into the finished product 👍🏼

The concept is great, scale up a couple of models and that will suit your purpose. Thought provoking. Your place has come a long way. Very nice.

This looks neat. Gold rock miners have some this size and they get it like under the feet and wheels in your yard. Keep wood out won't crush. Jams. likely twigs ok. leaves ok.

I can see this being super handy for very specific odd jobs or tight spaces. But it's tendency to clog probably justifies just getting a little bit bigger of a crusher.

Amsr too, like on the job… high on the couch😊 Great video, if ya just started thinking, could I do that? No upgrades

Great video Andrew! I wish you could have heard me yelling NO Don’t Do It when you tried to take it off the pallet….Haha! I think the belts are way too loose is why it keeps jamming. It probably has to be something you have to get the feel of to run smoothly. Thanks
