WOW .. awesome video! I am a bit of a maintenance fanatic ... I always change my oil on time ... always fix anything that is broken so it is ready to go next time. I have never had a zero turn mower. Just found a ZD28 that I am putting an offer in on tonight. The neighbor has one and I know for a fact he has not done half of what you said to do. I know this unit has not been used much in the past for years and I am sure it will need everything you talk about in the video. Thanks so much !

I have a mower just like this I bought new in 2005. It’s a great mower with only about 1500 hours. Wasn’t cheap but I think I would have gone through two cheap mowers during this time. Previously I had a cheap John Deere with a two cylinder gas motor. It’s amazing the smaller amount of diesel fuel required as compared to the gas I poured though that John Deere.

Good luck, changing that drive belt. I ended up pulling it on the trailer and carried it to the shop. I just had mine pm'd for the season, used it twice when the drive belt broke. Its a pain in the ... to change it.

That looks like the same frame as my ZG23. Even the Main fuse that is dangling off the engine is the same. Yep, just change fluids per the schedule and it should be the last mower you need to buy. Mine has 1200 hrs on it.

I was able to talk our seller into leaving his ZD28. I love this machine, but I’m lost on how to maintain it. Thank you for this informative video. Can you please do a video one a ZD28? Please show or specify all fluids used!

Great video. I have the same machine and currently having trouble starting it sometimes. It appears that there is something amiss with the control arms that have to be extended outward on start. I have to jiggle arms in and out the get the motor to kick and run. Is there a simple solution or at least something I can check out?

How do you suggest getting under the mower if you do not have an awesome electric lift like you have? Carjack?
@cmdrrgh5 жыл бұрын
R Nicodemus I have a ZD 28 and I use a car jack to lift it up and than use two six by six blocks about two feet long to lower the wheel on, than put the blocks of wood under the wheels and lower the Jack and you can go underneath the machine

I'm guessing that this is a customer's machine, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyways, once a fellow has made the jump to a diesel-powered mower, is there ever a reason to want to go back to a gas-powered setup ? They used to say "Once you go black, you'll never go back", but now I hear them saying that orange is the new black. Every so often I get feeling a little green about it all, but those JD's are so expensive....
