A surprise build, oohh can’t wait. Mate, that chalk paint is the best stuff to spray paint by far.

I forgot how much work I have remaining for that surprise build. It might happen before Christmas, it might not. The next time I need to paint some super matt blue, I'll give the chalk paint a try in the sprayer. I'm curious to see how it looks under a clear coat of poly after being applied with spray.

I can honestly say, it's the best piece of pallet wood furniture I have ever made. It'll certainly be the last project I make with pine pallets. They are so horrible 😂

That chalk paint is interesting. It's like a modern milk paint. It allows the base colour to come through when the clear coat is applied.

Those edge tools are the best fun. Hand planes are laborious, but the draw knives are forever entertaining.

Thanks Tony. I think they look OK, but honestly, I believe the pallet wood aspect is the single worst factor about them. The timber is just so horrible, but it gave a good opportunity to play around with some obnoxious stains and very loud paints. 😂

Thanks. I have more videos coming soon. I'm not very good at sharpening the scorp, and the way I do it won't be very accessible to most people. I use an edge sander to remove bulk steel, and then refine the edge with diamond and water stones by hand.

Nice Work. I like the Tip you give for sitting the Drill flat on the bench and raising the project up. Slowly getting into recycling pallets myself. What's the name of the double handled tool that you used to carve out the sit? Thanks

Thanks mate. The two edge tools I was using were a draw knife and a scorp. The scorp is the round one. I love those tools, they are so much fun.

Thanks mate. It's a fairly classic shape, but I needed to make the legs thicker to be able to accentuate the curves better.

It's a really nice design for a shop stool. The seat is tilted forwards which naturally causes us to sit upright without the need for a backrest.
