KUFU Drawer System | Quick Release Modular Drawer System

The KUFU Drawer System has been under development since 2019. The idea of a quick release (Catch-and-Click™) system that enables drawers to be installed and removed within seconds without the need for tools became a prominent topic of discussion, both in the context of vehicle builds and casual campfire chats. This concept then became their primary focus.
Upon collaborating with Design and Industry, a renowned expert in the realm of design for manufacturing, they initiated with a brief. After numerous brainstorming sessions, they finalized a unique and comprehensive compression moulded design. This design offers adaptability in the tool for 6 different lengths and 3 heights. Due to the sheer complexity of the tool, they sought international expertise for its construction, trials, and part production. However, the assembly and several other components are manufactured in Geelong, Australia. Now, the design appeals to sectors like Defence, medical, and large fleets because of its impressive strength-to-weight ratio and quick installation features.
In addition to the quick release mechanism, the design also prioritizes lightweight construction, both internal and external lighting, a sealed structure for outdoor usage in all weather conditions, incremental locking positions to prevent full extension on slopes, an anti-slip surface, a 1-tonne load capacity spread evenly on the drawer's surface, and a 150kg capacity inside each drawer. It also ensures smooth operation, full drawer extension when open, modularity for custom stacking and varied height configurations, built-in retaining tracks for sliding eye bolts to fasten loads, and an optional false floor on the 280 and 460 drawers for storing water or concealing valuables. Moreover, it is lockable and aesthetically pleasing, blending seamlessly with modern vehicle designs.
