I love all these early piano concertos. Andreas Steier is one of the best experts in this field.

Compositeur totalement inconnu jusqu'à aujourd'hui pour moi. Trés belle découverte. Merci pour ce partage.

Born in Bohemen 13 March 1726 and died in Vienna 12 April 1797. A fine concerto for pianoforte well played by Andreas Staier.

The first time I heard this piece, I could've swore it was Mozart. Wonderful piece, performance, and upload .

You are more or less right. Most Steffan music predates Mozart exactly as that of JC Bach, Haydn, dad Leopold, etc. It was the language of that time and the young Wolfgang absorbed it as much as Mannheim school's language. Steffan and others should be given credit to have formed Wolfgang's legacy whose he made good use to surf towards the eternity

It's even more interesting than Mozart. To me at least.

This music is absolutely sumptuous .... rich melodic speech, harmonies breathtaking orchestration constantly renewed in the use of the stamps of the orchestra, in short a Babylonian sound architecture erected by humbles and immenses interpreters.

unbelievable, it sounds like romanticism, perhaps like Spohr. So simple but so beautiful!
@pietrolandri60815 жыл бұрын
Well .... perhaps romanticism is a bit too far..... it's certainly a valid example of gallant music, source of inspiration for the young Mozart. To get to Spohr music it will take few more decades and Mozart does not suffice....you still need Beethoven. However agree it's a very good piece of music and would deserve more knowledge
