One thing about farming Jay,You do have to be a Jack of all Trades,as you well know.I live near a place called "Tucson Belt and Bearing" don't know if they have a website,but I've been in their warehouse and they have shelves and rows of shelves of more bearings then you can imagine,they helped me out before.I,m sure their must be something similar in Atlanta.Good vid.My rooster was extra noisy this morning too,maybe cause the weathers gettin cooler,who knows...Pete

Jay the weld works only if race is inside race where you was welding on outside it make it tighter.

There is a bearing supply place about 30 miles away. Next time I'll be able to shop around and not be rushed.

Any issue with the bearing not being sealed? I would think you might have problems leaking oil from the cutter bar once the grease gets spun out of the bearing. Did you ever find another number for a sealed bearing? I've got a GMD 500 and need to replace the bearing.

I have noticed some minor oil leakage around the bearings but not too bad.

Hey Farmboy, thought you'd like to know, I found a sealed bearing that will work in this application. A MOOG PE-WB-11352 is a double roller, sealed wheel bearing in the same dimensions. They are actually front wheel bearings for a Peugeot. I found them at RockAuto.com. They cost $24 each. Shipping for one bearing was going to be about $30. I bought two and shipping was $35. So, for about $83, I have two bearings, which is about the same price I was getting quoted for one non-sealed bearing at the local auto parts store. If you bought a complete set, your price per bearing would come down even more, most likely.

Are the number of splines in the gear the same as the number of teeth on the gear? If not you will have a problem timing the discs. Just a thought!

These must be equal because they're very easy to time. Just place the spindle in with the bolt pattern opposite the one beside it.
