They are not meant for duck hunting, but I'm so glad I bought these gloves and had a chance to use them in the duck blind! A must-have for archers and duck hunters alike.

First class review! Thank you. You convinced me to buy these gloves.

Derek, Thank You! As all DWR treated gear, be sure to wash it gently with TechWash or similar to keep the water repellency of the outer fabric working well. 👍

Thanks man I have been looking at these for duck hunting specifically. I am far too cheap so I don't like spending money to test things out. You sold them to me.

I took the time and seam sealed my axis gloves. 99% waterproof now.

Nice! What did you use to seal the seams?
@buckshotgigalo3 жыл бұрын
@@strixoutdoors I used gear aid seam sealer. I took a couple hours because it was finicky getting into all the seams but it was worth it. I applied it to the outside seams only and the entire nose wipe area as well. Let them dry for a day and G2G. The only area I had touch up on is the upper outside thumb on both gloves.

So you still happy with these glove. Have you took them down into some colder temps than you mentioning in the vid

I’m still happy with them. They are water proof enough for what I need and it doesn’t get too cold. I’ve used them in Montana elk hunting on the colder days and they work well also. I like how slim profile they are.

I have spent well over $1000 in the decade on gloves. Some work better than others, and only 2 kinda did the job. The first was like $200 and lasted about 1.5 winters, the second was a $40 no name that lasted like 2 months, but were perfectly warm. This year Imma try the Kuiu axis as a liner and their northstar glomitt as a shell. Hopefully that works and lasts me at least 2 winters

Good Luck and let me know how it goes. These axis gloves were very water repellent the first season but after that the water repellency was reduced a good bit. I got a pair of the KUIU Yukon Pro gloves last year that are waterproof and warmer. They work well but are too thick for my finger to fit in the trigger guard of my SBE3. SO, sometimes I wear the Yukon on my off hand and the axis on my shooting hand (or not at all). But then I can put the Yukon on to pull decoys (assuming it's cold enough to do so).

How is the dexterity for archery hunting?
@strixoutdoors Жыл бұрын
It's very good although I'm not use to shooting my bow with real gloves so I don't get the same feel. I only wear these on the coldest of days. Most days I wear thin merino wool gloves with half the fingers cut-off. Those are either army surplus "fingerless" glove liners or the KUIU merino glove that I cut the finger tips off of the index and middle finger on each hand.

How are they with phone use?
@strixoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
They are pretty good. The index finger and the thumb have touch screen friendly materials on the tip of the finger to allow you to use your phone. It's very responsive for me. The gloves fit me just a touch long on the fingers so not quite as precise with the gloves for me.
