Great tip here! I like to use it on faces to make the nose look wider or thinner. Can help make a model look unique!

Yeah it's amazing how much you can alter the look just with paint alone.

Just found your channel and love the videos I've seen so far as I'm trying to get to the next level in my painting! Maybe you've heard this one before but I'm so grateful you add subtitles and don't just rely on KZbins auto generated ones that has very varied results. Makes it a lot easier to focus on what you're saying for people like me who don't speak English as a first language (and sometimes it's just a lot of noise in the background where I'm watching). Looking forward to explore your vast archive! 👌

This vid is gold again, who stipples smooth transitions in flesh tones?? who?? The look is softened by glazes but creates wonderful musculature in a real focus area 11months ago and 10k views M8 you need to revisit this with well known similar models with soft musculature sculpts, GW where you can I suppose, don't say it's a retread just put it out there. Do a model beautifully but also pick out other examples from your collected work - including this one and similarly show a before of a smooth area followed by the result you achieved on it. So many of us have plastic minis from Kickstarter boardgames that the lack chiselled looking detail that costs the premium GW charge for hard plastic kits. Loads of us have boxes full that could achievably look great with this approach. Get your talent and knowledge out there m8, and definitely ride this technique into more folks view

Maybe stipple two colours into the deeper shadow colour with these tiny dots. Make a more interesting flesh even at this small scale using it as chromatic underpainting before beginning the midtone at a less opaque consistency over it. Afterall the midtone stippled too, it's just maybe an extra pass. Maybe have one colour shadow predominate on one side and the other on the opposite to suggest environmental light? Push it and impress people!

Great technique mate, I can see myself using it to give depth to scars or defining muscles and ribcages on animals like horses. Might try it on myself and turn my keg into a sixpack before going to the beach!

@KujoPainting thanks kindly kujo! I'll check him out. Another great tutorial as always - though my criticism as always is that you make it seem so damn easy! Makes it a little dissapointing when my work doesn't come out quite as well but it's all a journey and practice makes better! 😀
