The Bamboo Fast Cutter is a Katana from Musashi was designed by Paul Southren of Sword Buyers Guide and it is a katana optimized for swift and responsive cutting and tameshigiri practice. The blade is handforged 1060 high carbon steel which has been differentially-tempered to imbue it with a hardened, dull-resistant cutting edge and a genuine hamon line and it features rarely seen double-hi grooves for weight reduction.
The hilt is fashioned in the unique Hamidashi style and has detailed tsuba, fuchi and kashira components of antiqued copper with a bamboo motif. The wooden grip has panels of genuine rayskin which are bound in knotted black tsuka ito cord. The included scabbard is carved from wood and finished with layered glossy black lacquer. Included is a cloth sword bag and a serialized certificate of authenticity.

The Musashi Babmboo Katana used to be about ~$80 on Trueswords a couple years back, now they're $189 these days? Geez. Also I'm about 99% sure they're only 1045 carbon steel, not 1060 as advertised.

Musashi has kind of split into 2 kinds. By that I mean they generally market their 1045 swords under the Musha name & the 1060 & above as Musashi. Although this sword is listed under Musha & KoA has it as 1060 (but as you point out that could be wrong) As for prices..not sure but I don't doubt the price jump as many sword companies have upped their prices in recent years; some by a surprising amount.

Only $189? That seems very cheap for a sword not made from some cheap stainless steel

Yeah, Idk how they are making them so cheap --- but they've been doing it for years. It's differentially hardened too. Meaning the edge of the blade is much harder and holds it's sharpness-- while the back bone of the blade is softer, which makes it much "tougher", by having more flexibility. If they just hardened the entire blade, it makes it too brittle and can break. They have even cheaper one's for $130, with the same blade, just with slightly different styling.... They even have cheaper musha blades for like $60, but they are only 1045 high carbon steel, and don't have the differential hardening-- so they don't have that super hardened edge, and will go dull faster.

@@chadhill455 Yeah, they label them "battle ready"-- and there are endless videos of people testing these blades to the breaking point on here. Just search "kult of athena test" or "Musashi destruction test"... (or "Musha destruction test" for the cheapest blades that aren't differentially hardened.)

It's probably because the original poster of that comment was watching on their smartphone from the back of the school bus and it automatically chose a lower quality stream for his bandwidth
