Kumail and Conan have a really good chemistry and clearly have a lot of respect and admiration for each other, this was one of my favorite episodes of the podcast.

This is an incredible true story with big writing talent behind it; I'm thrilled they decided to cast you. They clearly saw that you would be spectacular in that part.

Nothing made me want to watch this show more than Kumail’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel where he said, “some wild things happened” and one person in the crowd yelled, “Woo!” and he turned and said, “The thing was murder, so - you just cheered a murder”.

Kumail's Murderville episode was probably the funniest one. I watched that episode so many times and I crack up so hard.

I was really impressed with Kumail’s performance in welcome to chippendales. Steve Banerjee is a really fascinating individual, and Kumail did a great job of balancing this guy who really is a lot like Walter White. He’s kind of a square and he doesn’t really know what he’s doing initially with the business, but he’s also really smart and extremely volatile, and when he explodes, no one’s ready for it

I paused the video because I, a non-American, now realized that they were not talking about Chip n Dale the cartoons with chipmunks (which I saw on TV when I was a kid). That's why they were rather serious in the earlier clips lol

For a moment I thought he was talking about Homer and Flanders at the Cider factory(?) where his brain floats away, but I did find a clip to remind me about his brain leaving in the Big Brother episode where it told him "don't say revenge". Both funny, but I love Homer just collapsing when his brain leaves at the Apple Cider place.

I would like to draw attention to a famous British TV comedy sitcom Fawlty Towers (acted in/written by John Cleese and his than wife Connie Booth) that also had a finite 2 seasons (6 episodes each) run, no flogging of dead horse there, just simple comedic brilliance. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and check it out, for despite being made in 70's, remains a brilliant funny exceptionally well written entertainment.
@theJohnGaltLine Жыл бұрын
Yeah, British shows in general tend to have short season (series in their terms) runs and a often a small number of seasons. I agree with Conan. I think American television is better following that trend. Less chance for the show to beat the dead horse.

Fawlty Towers season 1 is available on youtube! I watched it and laughed my head off, but now so many classic American comedies just feel like stolen FT ideas!

Umm... the exits need to be more clearly marked with maybe temporary signage. !But But But! that is no fault of Choctaw Nation (to the best of my understanding) what without a doubt has been my favorite casino resort experience! Now don't get me wrong Vegas, NV (and I shall return) ... For example, I think your state exit signage is handled much better!!!

Looks interesting. I hope it goes on Netflix or Amazon soon. We don't have Hulu unfortunately
@LS-mm5js Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, that's probably not going to happen. If the show was primarily produced for Hulu, they own the rights and are unlikely to sell or loan them out. Shows like these are meant to attract viewers to the different streaming services and give them a leg up over the competition. I'd consider doing a trial month or paying for a month to just eatch the show but, in the past, I've been unable to sign up to Hulu at all. Apparently, because of a wider spread error on their side. Which is a bummer, because stuff like this makes people resort to priracy.

Dev Patel would have been too skinny for the role. Although, with makeup and all that Hollywood stuff, they could have transformed him.
