The tragedy unfolded in the remote Aboriginal community of Yuendumu on Warlpiri lands in November 2019. Teenager Kumanjayi Walker was killed after a police officer fired at him.
Constable Zachary Rolfe was charged with murder four days later. Delays and setbacks would see his day in court postponed for another two and a half years.
A contingent of Kumanjayi Walker’s family and Yuendumu community elders travelled 1,500km to Darwin and stayed for the duration of the trial.

@@garyhost1830 Yeah so dangerous! A kid with "scissors" restrained by another officer! Barely even real scissors either, they were closer to fingernail scissors. Medical scissors at best. There were so many other options beyond shooting 3 times. Like just disarm the kid if you really have to for christ sake. Two grown men can't handle that? Or what about help to restrain and handcuff him? I would have never fired there, after the first shot, would you? Rolfe was looking for blood.

This kid was taken too soon, Unacceptable, may he go straight to Heaven. Very Unjust . Urgent System Reform Required and Local Elder Control with No Guns in Aboriginal Communities Zones. Hopeful that Change will Happen . Best way is to Change system . And Definitely No Ex Soldiers , they are too demonically possessed.
