This is kumaoni song. Somebody who has metal problems is garhwalis. Stop stealing our songs and culture. This song is the anthem of whole uttarakhand but that doesn't mean you all will discredit kumaonis of their contribution and hard work. Do garhwalis call chait ki chaitwal as uttarakhandi, pahadi song? No, you don't. What if we will start calling garhwali songs as kumaoni how would you feel? Whenever kumaonis talk about their culture and identity then you all start giving us moral lectures on unity. Please respect our kumaoni culture and stop discrediting them.

Actually it is a traditional Garhwali folk song. A famous Kumaon writer modified it in 1950s and gave it a Kumaoni flavour by mentioning some places in Kumaon. He made this song famous. But at heart it is a Garhwali song.

The language of the song itself is kumaoni .Bhuna Bhuna din aayo ,Narena Puja mera maita. The word puja is not a Garhwali Construct, it is only used in Kumaoni ....

@@devesh431 : The original folk songs are created in the rice fields of Pahad ( Tehri, Pauri or Almora ) where the reapers work in the paddy fields. They are also created when men and women take their cattles to the forest and collect dry wood for fuel. These songs are the ONLY source of entertainment they have. These songs run in generations, like grandmother, mother and daughters. They can make songs out of anything. The good ones stay for generations and others are soon forgotten.They cannot be created in the drawing rooms. So no one can say - - I created it. I know many aged Garhwali people who used to sing a variation of this song in their village in Tehri. This they did prior to the independence. This songs belongs to the whole of Uttarakhand. Let us take the key word, Kafal. In Garhwali, Kumaoni and Gorkhali this word means the same fruit.

Do you all Nepali origin people in India speak standard Nepali just like Nepal or you all just speak the local dialect of your respective regions but just because you all are of Nepali origin so your language is identified as Nepali?

@@vp1994 we used to speak diff dialect. Spcly Indo aryan section. But due to diff origin people living together in society it going mix type. My grandfather n grandmother dialect was diff. Mongoloid people mostly of Sikkim n Darjeeling speak Mixing tribal words with standard Nepali cuz they learn standard Nepali in school. No one speak pure standard Nepali. There r doteli speakers also in assam. But due to intermarriage of diff region origin people it's also mixed. Assams Nepali also use some assamese words in nepali. It's called Nepali language on basis of collective similar dialect spoken by a group of people. Most probably when some migrated around 100 or 200 yrs ago to British India he used to speak pure dialect of particular region of Nepal from where he migrated. I think what I speak will not match to any region of Nepal. Cuz it's collective knowledge of what my grandfather, grandmother, parents, neighbour n friends used to speak with some assamese words for some words which I did not gain proper Nepali word from anyone. N I think in Nepal many also speak local dialect who did not migrated to other region but now is mixed with standard Nepali . Beyond Kathmandu to east Nepal they may speak standard Nepali more along with what they carried from respective region at time of migration with some local tribal words cuz pahadi region is only from uttarakhand border to gandaki region of Nepal where natural dialect exist historically.
