Thank you for actually showing it. It really does help. I've dispatched chickens and pigs. Deciding what method we will use for rabbits.

This is so helpful and important. I realized today that as I consider housing for rabbits and birds, I also need to learn and be comfortable with dispatching them. I know that this has been done as long as people have been eating meat, but in my 50 years I've never taken part in this aspect. I'm realizing that I need to learn what I can and offer to help friends who already have animals and learn from them. Thanks again for bringing this important subject to your channel.

Great video! Thank you for the comparisons... I am about to start raising my own meat and this definitely helped me decide on a dispatching method

Very helpful info. I'd like to know your process as far as once your done cleaning the rabbit? Do you age the meat or go straight to the freezer? I'll wait for the video, :) thanks!

Thank you for showing that. I wasn't sure before, but now I know I won't be able to do the cervical dislocation method - at least not for the first several times - and maybe never. I like the captive bolt method but that's expensive so we'll see. I saw a mention somewhere of using a nail gun. Could that work?

I don't see why not!

Can you please post a link or say where you got the J-hook? I’ve tried looking it up but I can’t find one that looks like the one you used

What about the karate chop in the back of the neck?

@@kummerhomestead Do you also use the classical technique of holding the rabbit by the rear paws and strike a blow with the dominant hand or with a club in the back of the neck? It is a very common technique that is widely used.
@kummerhomestead3 ай бұрын
@@hastequick1618 We don't use that technique but I know many do.
