I am disabled and have studied both drunken boxing and drunken monkey styles. I have never in my entire 25 years of martial arts seen someone proclaim to know a style and yet do it so badly. The blocks were very weak even more than the strikes were. Someone who is properly taught drunken style would know how not to get dizzy while doing these forms. Furthermore it is not a physical drunk that one should be experiencing but more of a spiritual one. Lastly the cripple leg does not change during the form. FYI this is coming from someone who actually has a limp. So please before you continue to cover forms you say you know please make sure you are doing them correctly before you teach them to others.

Wow this guy is bad. Firstly drunken boxing does not have a limp at any time, it is based around appearing off balance while using your core just above you center of balace to maintain control Secondly Li T’ieh-kuai or "Iron-Crutch Li" has nothing to do with drunken boxing, he was an immortal that carried medicine. Third there are two origin stories of drunken boxing the Buddhist one centers around a man named Liu Qizan, while the Taoist story is around the 8 immortals, which states that the immortals' leader Zhog Li Quan taught the fighting style to a Taoist man. Now thats out of the way lets get to the obvious stuff: At 2:00 he shows a "stance" which is clearly wrong, most noticeably his foot which only has the toes on the ground while drunken boxing keeps both feet firmly on the ground. At 2:25 he limps while "attacking" any idiot would know that you dont limp in a martial art otherwise you would be easily knocked over. At 2:30 he is having trouble keeping his balance while "kicking" and almost hops to keep upright. At 3:25 that is not fighting that is break dancing. At 3:53 what kind of idiot tries to limp into shoulder hits? At 4:00 he tries rolling, anyone that has seen a real martial art knows that is the biggest failure of rolling ever At 5:05 "if i wasn't drunk before i am drunk now of dizziness, but thats the point maintaining consciousness maintaining balance, maintaining precise kicking even during all this dizziness" that is not the point you are only meant to appear dizzy as to deceive the opponent. Anyone who wants to see the real deal should look elsewhere, try national geographic fight science, they show the real deal.
@LeviPage10 жыл бұрын
You are incredibly ignorant. The limping immortal is a form from the 8 immortal system in Shaolin. Whether you agree with it as a realistic fighting system or not, it is an authentic form. There are various versions of the story, but again the form is authentic regardless whether or not you agree with the historical aspect of the character the form is coined after. It is stupid to argue about Chinese legends and say you know the truth. Chinese legends are fully of bologna but the form is well established as being from the Shaolin temple and this is easy to verify. You are just a troll and should pass on. You obviously don't know anything about Shaolin other than probably some off shoot lame drunken system. The 8 immortal system is the real deal and not some BS drunken variation some random hack came up with.
@jamalrobertodixon209210 жыл бұрын
Drunken boxing does have a limp why do you think they call him cripple lee You need to study the history of zui quan and the history of the eight immortals

When you learn a martial art be that pencak silat, muay thai, aikido, or capoeira. You mimic what is being taught by the instructor and work at it until you perfect the technique. Jacke mace, I believe shares his knowledge of the style he's passionate about to those who can glean something to help there own martial arts styles

A.hole - the point is that this guy "jake mace" is really a fraud. He learned from his con-artist teacher, "grand master Sin Kwang The", who had to come clean in front of a judge that he fabricated his "art", which he called "shaolin-do". So this guy really does not "know his shit". He can't even hand himself his own ass. In fact, he does know SHIT!

I guess it's ok if you want to learn to do it as a kata. Drunken boxing is not something you can really teach. Aside from that, he seems more oriented toward kicking. It's a balanced style. The whole style is based on balance.
