Drunken Boxing Kung Fu - Cao Guo Jiu. Drunken Style Chinese Kung Fu is known by many names: Drunken Boxing, Zui Quan, 8 Immortals Kung Fu, 8 Drunken Immortals Kung Fu, Chinese Drunken Boxing, etc. Of the 8 Taoist Immortals Cao Guo Jiu is the most advanced physically and this form is the beginner version of the full Taolu or Kata! Enjoy:

Very good Grasshopper. I liked that you showed the moves needed to complete the form first. I've got to work on your flexibility videos before I can attempt this one. Great watching it though. Looks like darkness was catching up to you fast on this one.

I practice kung fu and capoeira and one of the things I have learnt is that the cutes things are often the most deadly and not to underestimate you opponent, many choose the art to harm others, while the others use it so that some can defend them selves. martial arts are not just for harming others, but if that's what has been learned then there's more to be learn.

man looks like a hell of a work out and lots of fun if you have the ability, thanks for sharing this i have been enjoying watching your videos. Though i am not a part of your school, and am in a different school of martial arts, i enjoy seeing how others do things especially if they have the physical and mental ability to pull them off. I love your form when performing moves, you have a very sharp style of movement. thanks again looking forward to more videos. i would love to see more drunk, as well as more videos on tiger crane, mostly because when i was younger practiced hung gar kuen, and loved the tiger and crane though never was able to stay in the school but loved the animals of kung fu and how they are interpreted

What level should I be at before taking one of your classes? I have been out of organized martial arts classes for some time now but I train on my own and I'm preparing seriously commit to improvement. My goal is to advance enough to just be able to stand toe-to-toe and seriously spare with my old master on the east coast. I have no delusions that I could beat him but I'm still miles away from being quick enough to react to his speed. If I can get myself to a level where I can seriously train with someone at your level then I think I will one day be able to achieve my goal.

Hey jake i didnt train 6 weeks And what can i Do to get this Fitness back
@assaltmaster8910 жыл бұрын
jacki chan did these moves in drunken master lol. i'm a big fan of this type of stuff though i never use it for personal fun like hurting people just because you can. i try not to do to much damage to someone i'm fighting cause it's real easy to mess up a normal street fighter so is what i do is a dodge and block to see how they fight. then knowing how he fights and him not knowing how i fight gives me advantage over him even more so then i did. but this make it easy to do strike backs softer and if he's though enough to take it you hit a little harder. i started doing this cause when i was younger i was bullied and not knowing how powerful these moves can be on someone he didn't land 1 hit on me and i put him in the ER for 3 weeks. so this is not something to mess with. i show others how to fight but never show off everything. cause i have had people turn on me with what i showed them and it can be the hardest fight of your life. so i tell people do not use this because you can. if you do i will not train you anymore. i teach them respect not anger. if you don't need to fight walk away. even if they make fun of you for it don't fight unless you half to. such as they chase you or corner you or defending someone you love or standing up for the people who can't stand up for them self. we learn to fight not so we can fight. we learn to fight so we don't half to.

If you do this for passion and fun.. it's fine.. but if you teach people to fight using drunken boxing... you must be dead drunk.. you're just copying moves from films and tv shows and incorporate some of your own style.. and your're teaching people the wrong thing.
@Heimdal0016 жыл бұрын
I only know a rather basic level Drunken Boxing Staff form. That's enough to recognize how you made all of your Drunken style moves up. Did you know that the 'falling to the ground' moves are both break-falls and attacks? A break-fall is a controlled landing, where most of the force is absorbed by the arms and legs. In this style's case, it's often landing with body first, and spreading the force outward to the limbs (because the damage happens where the force stops), which makes it into something that can be used as a strike on a low or fallen opponent. Just catching yourself in a pushup-like position does none of that, and serves no purpose at all - you probably only added that because you saw a break-fall in a movie, and decided your version looks 'close enough'. You just took some gymnastics and balance exercises, and put them into a form. They aren't bad in their own right, but this is not Drunken Boxing.

I didn't think there was kata in kung fu, I studied lau gar and there was never any kata to learn, I did learn kata whilst doing shotokan karate, I preferred lau gar kf to shotokan karate mostly because there was no kata to learn, leaving more time for sparring etc
