I can't believe I missed the Golvellius stream. Every screen has a cave. Sometimes you need to kill a certain number of enemies or hit the right rock/bush. There are sword, shield, and life upgrades. When you continue you start from the beginning, but keep your upgrades and half your gold.

@mikematei The fun part about it is that you have to figure out how to get past the puzzles & scenarios. The combat can be challenging at times but it is pretty fun.

I'm very nostalgic for Altered Beast. Me and my brother were handed down a model 1 Genesis, Altered Beast and Sonic from older cousins in like 1993 and started going to FuncoLand and got all the earlier releases like Ghostbusters. I'm still trying to collect every version of Altered Beast. Have Genesis, Famicom, Master System, PC Engine.

Younger me had a Genesis growing up playing stuff like Toejam & Earl. Everybody I knew had a Nintendo or a Genesis, but I never saw the Master System, and never knew about the Master System. Felt like there should've been more of these systems in the wild, but I guess the NES was just that dominant?

Hey Mick. Not gonna write you an entire biographical sob story, but the short version is, things are really goddamn rough right now. I've had a myriad of health issues for over 20 years, and another myriad of newer ones. I "really" needed something that can just get my mind off of it for a bit. So I can come up for air, in a sense, and your streams are always a sure thing. Sometimes I purposely will avoid watching them, just so I can save them for emergencies, like now. Even though you're just playing old games and yelling about sitcoms and cum, it really helps. I'm quite positive that I'm not alone on this, so from myself and on behalf of the others, thank you maaaaan. Sincerely. 😬👍🏻 All that bullshit aside, recommendations. A few roguelikes: Ember Knights. Played it a bit like a year ago. Was alright, but it's had steady additions and improvements. It's pretty good. The one thing that bugs me about most roguelikes is that they're often all whimsical and shit. But gameplay wise, it's pretty good. It's your typical top-down affair. Hack n Slash, a bit like Castle Crashers. Worth a go if you want a new one to try. Second recommendation: Gunfire Reborn. This one is an FPS roguelike, and also has some whimsical shit. I thought it was gonna be a furry game cause the characters are animals, but at least there's nothing overtly gross or deviant. Where it shines though is in the gun play. It was reluctantly gifted to me on steam and I was all geared up to shit on and hate it, but I just can't. It's good. Worth putting on your list at some point.
@mikemateiКүн бұрын
Hey. Listen I know my streams are pretty stupid. But I just like hanging out with the chat and shooting the shit like how it was in the old days. Talkin shit on everything. Its as therapeutical for me as it is for some members like yourself. I know my streams are not for everybody. And that is more than fine. I am not doing this for fame. I’m retired and i just like hanging out and playing shit. Im happy they give you something to listen to. I have a few shows i listen to while doing stuff too so I get it. I’ll look up the games you suggested.

I'm honestly not too upset about the Switch 2. The Switch has been Nintendo's best-selling console to date, and last time they built a console around a gimmick (the Wii U) they almost went bankrupt as a result, so it's not surprising they'd see their best chance at staying competitive would be to take their most financially successful console and just make it a little bigger and significantly more powerful. A lot of the more innovative stuff in Nintendo's last generation was less inherently built into the console (like with the Wii) and more in providing optional alternative ways to use the features of the Switch, stuff like the Labo kits and the way the new Wario Ware game made use of the position sensors in the joycons, so I assume they'll probably be doing more of that. Also, there *are* already some minor quality-of-life improvements apparent in the new design (like the fact that it seems the console will come with a wireless controller that the joycons can be plugged into, rather than having to buy a controller separately). I feel like it's hard to take the opinions of KZbin commentors seriously on this; if Nintendo had tried something new and daring (like they did with the Wii U), they surely would've complained also, after years of lots of people whining about how Nintendo was just going for gimmicks rather than just a technical improvement upon the design of their console last generation (like Sony and Microsoft do), now that they're actually embracing the business model all those people wanted, people are *still* complaining, so I think it's kind of just a situation they can't really win.
