And the vast majority of us care about how the game plays, not "derr derr what gen is this looksie". That is why games like Elden Ring and a billion indies (Lethal Company, Stardew, Minecraft, Terria, Hades) constantly swallow awards and top sales charts.

If you like that, you should watch RE Vendetta. Just remember, certain CGI movies don't age well. This came out in 2017 (the same year as RE7) so put your expectations around that time
