Our Kyoto Stand has a fresh new face!

Since opening in 2016, Kurasu Kyoto Stand has been a community hub serving specialty coffee to people from all over the globe. Kurasu started here, and this is our starting point. We recently completed a small renovation and want to share it with you while reflecting on the past 8 years of this cherished shop.

"Kurasu" is derived from the Japanese word that means “to live” or “lifestyle.” What began as an online homeware venture has evolved to become an internationally recognized leader in Japanese coffee brewing equipment. We also offer a subscription service in collaboration with specialty coffee roasters from across Japan.
You can savor our specialty coffee at our locations in Kyoto, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, and HK. In 2021, we relocated our roastery cafe from Fushimi Inari to Nishijin. Currently, we roast using Loring S35 Kestrel.
Our mission is to introduce the world to Japanese coffee culture. This includes showcasing coffee products, partnering with roasters, and sharing our signature roasts. Kurasu is not just a retail store for coffee equipment, but also a cafe, a coffee roaster, and a beacon for specialty coffee culture.

Thank you for your comment. We had previously asked this to our builders but unfortunately due to the structure and short space between the road and shop we could not do any slopes. Our staff are always happy to assist in anyway possible.

@@KurasuKyoto Thank you for asking your builder, but don't accept your builder's "No" answer, you would need just about 1 meter from the step for a sideways slope. A portable ramp is an easy option that does not require any builder. Thank you for your response. We are considering moving to Kyoto, but I am worried that too many places have the same answer. Someday Japan will update the laws.
