Matu didn’t know he was going to be kicked. That’s why gH was very emotional upon hearing the news (look at cap & blitz’s talk at TI9 team secret vs team liquid when they restarted the game) After they kicked Matu and Matu joining Chaos, I noticed that Matu proved that he can play other heroes too which he also mentioned on his previous interviews regarding hero picks. It’s just that Kuro gave him the same picks over and over again. I myself won’t get so motivated if that’s the case. Kuro also mentioned respect & motivation in his interview abt what it would take for someone to be kicked or replaced in a team roster, he said if they lack respect & motivation. I mean, you do the math. Matu loves to hang out with jerax & topson in finland more than with his team. He plays pub with his pal gH & mc, bc what? He gets demotivated, he wasn’t respected as well as a player. Cmon. This is why he doesn’t wanna talk abt this issue in his chaos interview, bc it hurts him. Let the guy cool off.

w33 actually has a wide hero pool but he joined liquid on such late notice compared to the time before Ti9 that they do not have enough time to build chemistry on w33's other heroes. Its not like pubmatch where you can just counterpick as you deem necessary. In professional stages you need to make sure your team knows your playstyle

IMO liquid with Matu had two position 1.5s with miracle and matu and it never felt like they had a traditional mid player. Sure both could play mid but when did you ever seen Matu play the OD's, embers, leshracs, storms etc of the meta whereas with W33 he is a specialist at mid and has a diverse hero pool of all the mids that he has mastered and now they can focus on their respective roles more with a mid that has a more meta and traditional mid hero pool unlike Matu's brood, necro, DP, lycan which are not really standard. Not to say it didn't or couldn't work but I always felt like liquid needed this. IMO Matu is better at carry than Mid and Miracle is himself, able to do all. GL to both Liquid and Matu in the future both have bright futures, of course.

So many comments on love on matu, i felt respect to matu too, but i'll explain why actually matu got kicked, Matu is morelikely the least perform player in the team, he played core and he is just an average player for a core, now liquid have w33ha. Which is not to be questionable possibly the strongest meepo player, and ended up having lose streak. From here i could learn that all player in team strong ( high chance lose) prolly because everybody wanna perform but they need a X factor which i do believe Matumbaman had in small amount. This X factor is somehow more shown in a average skilled pro league player.

His hero pool is limited. Not that he has small hero pool, its that the heroes he plays are limiting the number of strategies Liquid can play. Every other team learned how to play against it. With w33 they got completly different hero pool, play style and strategies they can execute. You could definitely see the results of it this TI. Why Matu? Everybody else can adjust. GH plays whatevers best in the meta. Miracle has the largest hero pool of any player in the game. MC is very versatile as well. Matu was the only logical choice if they wanted to change their playstyle. (this is comming from some1 who stopped cheering for Liquid since they kicked Matu)
