Watered down mechanics of Chinese Kung Fu. After all, Karate originated from China, but they half-ass learned it and so it arrived to Japan in a watered down form.

The outstanding point of Naka Sensei to me is that not only is he a master technician, great champion, and first class teacher, he's also such a good human being. He has a great spirit. I think this video really reflects this. 押忍!

I remember doing this drill at Naka-sensei's class and it really helps so much to open the hips. I use this drill for BJJ as well for the armlock maneuver as swinging your leg over without falling back requires the same mechanics.

I ain’t doing that now . One hip resurfacing done and the other needed as soon as possible . My right hip will never be able to be that soft until it’s resurfaced and even then I may not be able to do it short of dislocation issues . It’s the thousand of mawashigeri kicks and other karate torque creating techniques plus genetics that have caused my osteoarthritis. Sensei Naka is blessed . 🥋🙏
@John-ob7dh3 жыл бұрын
I could never do high mawashi geri despite 8 years training .I could do high front kick .I could do ushiro geri ( back kick ,I could do head keage ( snap kick ).But try as I might no maeashi above the waist .lol
@shazamsakazaki2 жыл бұрын
As he said at 4:38, people don't really need to kick that high. It's just that they want to be good at kicking, so if you don't need to be good a head kicks, it's not really necessary
@markwalker41422 жыл бұрын
@@shazamsakazaki my hip resurfacing is now done and like many high graded karateka such as Richard Amos , Frank Brennan etc , hip resurfacing operations are common . As a younger karateka you can see it all very differently . Kicking jodan for me was very easy and to be honest kizami mawashigeri chudan was one of my main techniques in competition. I found the target 90 % of the time . In this day and age the competitive karate world and especially WKF Kumite are head hunters . It’s ura mawashigeri or pretty much nothing else . Why ??? Because it looks dynamic and attracts children and young people who are attracted by the imagery . They are a generation of how you look when you fight as much as how effective you are . As Sensei Steve cattle said to me once , ‘ hands are faster then feet and it’s pointless making your game purely about dynamic kicks . It’s no good if you’re swallowing a fist’! He wasn’t wrong then and he isn’t wrong now . 40 years of karate tends to make me reasonably qualified to have an opinion .

Only the Japanese can show the right part of the foot to do a kick! Congratulations to this excellent teacher I train ninjutsu from a different lineage from the famous ones and I learned that way breaking even bones using this right part and I read that okinawa karate was made like this to break the invaders' armor
@ScytherOnSpree2 жыл бұрын
If you trained more and had more experience you would have realized that each kicking styles have their own intended purposes. No such thing as the 'right part of the foot', you use whatever part of your body is the best for the situation at hand. Also, I have seen other than Japanese showing these techniques so you are wrong there. Please stop being ignorant.
