I'm a a boxer not martial artist but I learned the value of this when boxing in Mexico, where it was first taught to me. The best way to learn is practice practice practice, learning to relax is very important. If you watch a tiger swipe with its paw, you will see there is no telegraphing even though it lands with tremendous force. One of the Japanese boxers, Naoya Inoue punches like that. I keep trying and trying to be better!

boxing is a form of martial art. You can always incorporate different philosophies from different martial arts as well.

Anything which deals with the way or an art of combat/fighting is martial arts and boxing is a full fledged one of the most effective martial arts.
It seems like togo-sensei and Hiyori Kannazawa sensei is learning from one another and starting a beautiful love story. hahaha

This technique actually has nothing to do with speed. Even if you do it VERY slowly, if you perform it correctly, you WILL connect and the other person will never move his hand in time.

The secret behind jeet kune do punches is that you only draw power for the punch 0.1 s before it reaches the target. so the punch is light from its starting position and reaches an explosive power just before it lands on the target. Using this technique, the punches and kicks are much faster. But it needs some practise to control the muscles of your body. how to tense your muscles in split seconds and how to release tension in split seconds so that you dont waste energies
@misterlau5246 Жыл бұрын
🤔 It's the structure. You draw power from the push of your foot against the floor and efficiently transfer that energy to your fist. A fa jing can't be done by using part of the snap like momentum you draw from the foot through the leg, augmenting it more and your arm is like a látigo, you don't tense your FIST until the last possible moment. You lose momentum but the fist gets into a more strong hammer. 🤔 😬 English is not my first language, sorry for any Oops 😅 The power is generated by the whole body.

This technique also use in Silat, but you need a proper breath technique to maximize the power. Usually it use to damage internal organ, not to break the bones.
@misterlau5246 Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. The power comes from the foot and step and to the fist. It is useful to hit vulnerable points like nose or even NADS. But of course at very close quarters. Not to send you flying through the room. Example.. We can put the fist "Phoenix Eye" it's extending the index 👉 finger so the middle nuckle gets support by the thumb, so you have a dim mak striking tool at clinch range and strong.

I read the book jeet kun do and I went to JKD gym in Korea. We also trained this one. A fist travels first then ur body move to support it. It’s opposite to boxing. It leans on speed than power.
You might have missed the biological reason: If you use your periphery vision (left and right of the center) your eye's receptors signal movements much faster than the receptors in the center. The ones in in the center also transmit color etc. You can test it by looking at a crowed moving directly you see a blob of movements, while when you look left or right of the crowed (while keeping them of course in sight) you will register movements of individuals much faster and salient.

Training the instinct to feel the danger. In first time you cannot know that movement to touch you is danger or not. When my brother learn SIlat in two or three years, if someone wakes up him from sleep, he immediately attack the person. But after that, he can controlled it, and know what real danger or not.
You flirting with her Sifu Ishii? Cheeky......... I think she's flirting back. Joke aside, thank you for doing these videos. I am sure Sifu Ted Wong would be very proud of you and Sifu Hiro. Thankyou.
