Your English is excellent my friend! It is definitely a lot better than my German, even though I could speak it quite well 45 years ago. Now, because I have not used it for maybe 25 years, I have lost almost all of it. I know what you mean about hearing Anna speak, she is careful and does not hurry her speech. I am 61 year old German and I listen to Anna every day too. I remember that 2 years ago she used to talk about her life in Ukraine, now she talks about frontline events only. I have learned from this change. In such a situation, those developments at the front line decide about our (not yours and mine but her) everyday life. I observed her development from an observer to a warrior, if not on the battlefield but in her words and in the look of her eyes. Although I am convinced that, if necessary, she would not hesitate to hide behind her door and finish an intruding enemy with the axe if necessary. On other days I think that I detect remnants of tears around her eyes. That is war too. Happy that I do not have to experience this in my country. Yet? Excuse me Anna for talking about you and not to you. And excuse me for watching you like an animal in the zoo, but I think it is ok since you decided to share your thoughts with us, aand I learn from your experience. I do not know what she used to do before the war, and what she would do now if there would be no war. And I do not know either what I would do if there would be war in my country. From Munich to Ukraine it is not farther than from Munich to Hamburg. Strange world. Sometimes it appears to me, that war would be on another planet, sometimes it feels like it is just around the corner.
