Blast? Nah... He told us all exactly how much Vince wanted to protect Angle. We all saw his condition when he returned to WWE. He wasn't the same in-ring athlete anymore, and I think Vince saw that before anyone else.

He was done, he was past it during his last couple of years in TNA. vince just didnt have the heart to tell him

He wasted his best years at tna. And expected to be treated as a main eventer But vince shouldnt have made him à GM right away

If you see the 5v5 survivor series match from 2017, you can tell that Angle just wasn't himself anymore, and the guys he shared the ring with - Orton, Cena, Shane, HHH, Roode, Joe - had the utmost respect and love for him by the way they went out of their way to make him still look credible and believable. I guess his peers liked him too much and didn't have the heart to tell him he was past it.

Kurt couldnt even turn his neck. WWE is a juggernaut. They dont do HHH vs Scott Steiner type of mistakes very often. Vince made many mistakes but he knew how to market top draws.

It seems like Vince monitoring Kurt to see his durability.

Seems like he was testing the waters. Less responsibility, less pressure, less room for injury or relapse.
@w0lf469Ай бұрын
That and the fact that while he wanted Angle's name and fame, he'd also seen Kurt's most recent matches and knew whoever he wrestled would have to take care of him like they did Taker at the end. Angle was a beast, but he'd had too many injuries by then.

Doesn't seem like Vince had a vendetta to me. He knew when guys were done and needed to be protected from themselves. Macho Man, Mr. Perfect come to mind

Savage still had a solid long run in wcw after vince tried putting him on the shelf.

Uh Macho and Henning were still more than capable in the ring…
@TheJcperez129 күн бұрын
@joshuaa1605 I said he tried to protect them from themselves. They wrestled but continued to have substance issues. One was retired by 2004 and the other dead. You think there is no correlation with the fact they pushed themselves in WCW?
@qb657027 күн бұрын
😂Savage definitely had more in the ring. This is the same Vince that kept Hogan and Taker waaayyy past their prime
@jonathonholifield316626 күн бұрын
@@TheJcperez1yeah dude and 2004 is 10 or 12 years AFTER Vince tried to retire Hennig and Savage. Maybe if Vince hadn't forced em out the ring prematurely, they wouldn't have gone down the rough roads they ended up on

One of the rare times when i actually understood and sided by Vince. He knew that Kurt's body was done. You could see it from mile. Vince didn't wanted to take any risks.

Vince was protecting Angle and trying to avoid another death Get him in the HOF, then use that as a platform to sell fans on tuning in to see him as a GM. Highlight and promote him and then book him in the occasional match, sell it on ppv as a huge deal and protect him from himself while getting the biggest ROI out of it Def not a jerk move on Vinces part..imagine Angle kills himself on a random going into business for himself and does a 450 to the outside or takes an OG Burning Hammer..give him his flowers, get him on tv, make ppl love and care about the guy and build some good memories..and then risk doing a big time match, and sell it as so..the money is in Wrestling Machine Angle but its a huge risk and hes so well rounded and such a decorated athlete, keep him safe, keep him around, and give the fans what they want while craving more..maximize everyones value

To me I always feel like if you in the Hall of Fame you should stop actually wrestling because I think that's your final salute to your wrestling career now if you want to be a manager or someone who works on the show as a non-wrestler or works backstage or still part of the company that's fine.... I would love to see Joe Montana come out of retirement after being inducted in the NFL Hall of Fame and play quarterback but you don't see that do you
@MortifiedPenguinX20 күн бұрын
But its also in Angles character to go all out and the draw, in Vinces mind, would be most ppl go HOF and then ride off..but now youre getting HOF Angle on RAW as GM every week and maybe, if the stars align and theres a story somewhere, maybe we get Wrestling Machine Angle in a big match situation and also elevate a few more guys as well But health before wealth, vince made a good call to monitor him
