I was there for the second one. RVD is outside the ring and Cena goes to the top-rope. Everyone started to murmur, wondering if he was going to impress us. Cena then gives RVD an axe-handle or something and lands on his feet. We all react with an audible groan and that was followed with an "I can do that" chant. But now I wonder: did Cena do that on purpose just to piss us off further? If so, that is some expert heel work.

I think Rob had a great idea for what ECW could’ve been, “a place where scores were settled”. A feud could get so heated, more than likely a mid card or lower card feud, which usually would fall into the mix of raw and smackdown because it’s not for one of the belts and therefore could’ve used the added excitement of “let’s settle this on ECW television, where there are no rules”. Which raises interest to see what’s gonna happen. Feel like ECW would’ve had a longer run had it been viewed that way

I believe a lot of it had to do with Vince not wanting to give ECW the absolute true platform it needed to succeed and be established even more then it was, he wanted to bury anyone that was his competition look at the territories and wcw that’s exactly what he did to them all and it when ecw was “revived” it was to late because wwe was trying to move towards being a more pg product. that’s why a year later they allowed DX to reform but they weren’t they were super pg in contrast to how they were in 1997-1998 being an anti authoritative wrestling stable that pushed all the buttons and boundaries and made the stable memorable, ecw would’ve been just as big as wwe if it had the same finical backing and opportunity.

WWECW probably woulda had a chance if December To Dismember went well. Bring back the ECW TV Title & The Tag Titles. Bring back all the ECW Talent in WWE RVD, Sabu, Dreamer, Sandman, Stevie, Guido sure but Benoit, Mysterio, Super Crazy, Psicosis… why wasn’t Psicosis on the ECW brand plus Angle would’ve been something to watch. And if a new talent wanted to go into ECW (Punk, Kofi, Sheamus) let them work the traditional style but have them work the ECW style too make it seem like the Hart Family Dungeon like if you survive ECW you can make it anywhere.
