Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Paul Bromwell to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. It’s True. It’s damn true

It's crazy how WWE never had another 6-man Hell In a Cell match again...

It's a terrible nonsensical match. There is no room for 6 guys and psychologically it makes no sense. Why would anyone climb the cage? You can't in if you weren't with the ref in the ring and other people can.

Props to the crew who designed the match and the cage because I agree with Kurt, this could have ended a lot differently if Rikishi didn't land just right and he sold it!

Was a great match. 1 of my favourites. Kurt Angle was the new guy in his first reign so was expected to lose but he won.

I still think Rikishi is a psychopath for agreeing to that spot. He was like 400lbs Falling from 20+ feet like me when I’m playing a hell in a cell match in the game. Freaking nuts

He fell 13 feet onto hey and shocks. It's not a huge bump.

Although Kurt was booked vwry weak during his first wwf title run, this match gave him probably his big win during it. A clean win too
@McMachal
@McMachal Жыл бұрын
First off he wasn’t booked weak. Second this wasn’t a clean win lol he jumped onto the Rock after Austin stunned him. This was Kurt stealing the win, go re-watch it.
@FreeThinkAlways

@@McMachal He didn't cheat to win.. its a no dq, anything goes hell in a cell match. Nobody even interfered on his behalf he simply got the win clean by making a cover whilst everyone was down. Work it out. Other than this tho he was usually being beaten down or berated in promos weekly on raw by Austin, hhh and the rock. I remember he had title matches against Austin and hhh which he looked like he was going to lose until hhh and Austin interfered to cost eachother their matches. He was running like coward and using his brother as a stunt double to get a weak win over undertaker. This here was the strongest win Kurt got as champion and I stand by that

Rikishi's HITC bump is more dangerous than Foley's, yet its not talked about much
@redrick8900

It's not nearly as dangerous. It isn't as far. It's onto a prepared surface. There was no turn to it.

It was a great visual, but Rikishi said despite all the safety measures this bump shortened his career and he had to retire early because of it

I finally was able to get the ppv event on vhs & watched it. When it got to that part, I noticed stone cold, triple h & the rock stood still when rikishi was getting thrown off of that cage.

The Undertaker didn't even pick up Rikishi,he definitely grab his neck but it wasn't a chokeslam. Loved that match. I thought Kurt was losing. They made him to be the underdog because he was the newer guy

man weighs twice as much as your average human, falls 20ft onto a truck with about a foot of extra room between safety and guaranteed paralysis for life, and you're disappointed 'it wasn't a real chokeslam'

@@ShaunOfTheDodd Everything you said was wrong. You would have to average babies in to get Rikishi near twice the weight of the average human. It was 13 feet. he had over two feet either direction.

Rakishi took some of the biggest steel cage dives. The other one was flying off the top onto val Venus. I mean good lord. Imagine that conversation with Vince. He says Val I have an idea. Oh yeah what's that. Rakishi is going to splash down on top of you in a steel cage match 😍😍. Imagine Val's face 🤪🤣🤪

I was actually disappointed at that chokeslam by Undertaker to Rikishi off the cell, he didn't even lift him up, just pushed him in a controlled manner. But I was a kid then, I expected something similar to Mankind flying off the cell, not quite realising that what Mick Foley did that night vs Undertaker in the Hell In A Cell match could only be done by him lol
