As an all around athlete theres not many on the planet that can compare to Brock in their prime. His stats, size, strength, power, conditioning, speed, quickness and accomplishments speak volumes. Kurt may have won gold with a broken freaking neck. But watching Lesnar do anything was a shock to the senses. He's a once in a lifetime athlete that I think even Kurt Angle will agree with.

Brock says a different story in his autobiography... He says he told Kurt he was thinking about leaving WWE after Wrestlemania 20, but according to Lesnar they had that conversation a lot earlier than what Kurt says here since Brock says he was still the wwe champion. Not long after talking to Kurt about this, Brock says that a weird "coincidence" happened, in fact Vince McMahon told him he wanted him to drop the title before Wrestlemania to Eddie Guerrero because of Eddie's increasing popularity with the latinos audience. Brock says he had no problem with that but that he didn't buy it, saying that as much as he knew Eddie Guerrero was becoming a lot popular back then, he also knew Vince way too well and knew he would have never wanted him to lose the title right before Wrestlemania unless he was aware that Brock was planning to leave WWE and he goes on by saying that in his opinion Kurt Angle must have told Vince about his plans to leave WWE and that was the real reason why Vince wanted him to drop the title so suddenly.
@browserboy1984 Жыл бұрын
I honestly would not trust Brock or Kurt's memory at the time.
@The_Bigot Жыл бұрын
This actually can go along with Kurt’s story. If Brock was suspicious of Kurt then the conversation Kurt is describing here actually makes more sense and then the reasoning as to why he immediately went against Kurt’s advice is also explained. Brock thought Kurt snitched on him so he was trying to get him to admit it and Kurt was either ignorant of the entire thing or acted like he didn’t know. Then Brock just owns it and tells Vince straight up.

@@bigc2626 that doesn't have anything to do with him being smart. His name brings in money. He hold all the power with a company like WWE. Because he is such a massive draw it on WWE and his merchandise cells that is the power. Narcos using telligent where the smartest wrestler there ever was. You should really learn the definition of smart and maybe you will get smarter for having read something that's pretty basic. Oh and just so I can make it even more abundantly clear, when you hold all the power because your merchandise sells like hotcakes and you yourself happened to have a name that draws in Thousand if not at least a million viewers for a programming which is a lot of damn money by the way and you have an agent who negotiates quite literally on his behalf then that is what matters that is where the power and that is what makes Paul Heyman so damn smart.

It would have worked if that's what the booking entailed, but they didn't really acknowledge it as far as I remember, it was just "Goldberg is returning for one more match", because for the most part that was the initial plan. It must have been as early as January at the Rumble when Brock started feuding with Goldberg, no way would they pair them up together since they were on different shows and the WWE never did any cross branded matchups at the time. Vince already knew he wanted Goldberg out of the WWE, and Lesnar was still champion at the Royal Rumble. So what Lesnar said makes more sense.
@NathanTG Жыл бұрын
Interesting. I always wondered what was the logic behind Goldberg winning. Sure both guys were leaving WWE, but I would've thought WWE would want to stick it one last time to WCW, by having their guy beat Goldberg on the way out (even if Brock was also going). Plus at Brock's young age at the time of like 26, I thought there'd have been value there in putting him over. Finally, I see why he lost. Still makes no sense but atleast there's an explanation lol
