Kurt Ballou is honestly one of the most slept on engineers of our time. What a fountain of knowledge and such a masterful approach to our craft.

I could swear I've seen a walkthrough video like this about the kit pieces. Is that still around? Can't find it anywhere, or did I dream it? And I'm not talking about the one for volume 1. I'm sure I've seen one about vol 2

Really curious to know what is behind the names of Kurt's presets? Including 3 of my guesses: Ben (Koller) Dave (Turncrantz) Jake???? idk Jason?? John (Bonham) Mark?? Todd???

My guess for Jason is Jason Roeder of Neurosis because the band usually records at Electrical Audio and the preset is very reverb-y.

I'd say Todd is Todd Trainer from Shellac. It has that ringy snare and small tom setup that Todd seems to favor. Too many cymbals in that preset, though.
