I hate when artists rip off other artists. One of my favorite bands is Modest Mouse and I remember when I found out there song "convenient Parking" is a rip off of Archer's of Loaf's song "Telepathic Traffic" it ruined my day since Lonesome Crowded West is one of my favorite albums.

Rip off, not rip off, who cares? Chris said music is a personal preference. I like smells like teen spirit just as much as I like more than a feeling. Kurt hated playing smells like teen spirit and was always told that he ripped off more than a feeling which is why he played it at reading to mess with everything which I think made the performance. Knockin on heavens door and every rose has its thorn use a G chord, is every rose has its thorn ripped off? That’s basically what people are saying about these 2 songs.

Kris has said that Kurt was a massive fan of the whole Boston rock scene so Boston/Aereosmith etc, I don't think its a deliberate rip off more so that the style of playing of those bands was implanted into his brain due to them being the core roots of his influences. In regard to Killing Joke there was never a lawsuit, if there was one would dave grohl have joined the band in the early 00s? I doubt it. He played on their 2003 self titled record.

sounds very similar to me, even the drums on Teen Spirit are similar, a very generic riff, coming directly from Louie Louie, Wild Thing Boston had another song that used this type of riff and that was on Longtime
