Damn I missed his birthday. I started listening to Nirvana just about a month ago, and I didn't knew Kurt's BD until I saw everyone's comments on this... But I'm so glad that I was able to find this audio. What an amazing music...his voice and guitar always struck me in a very spiritual way.

It was an acoustic meant to have 12 steel strings, but Kurt put 5 Nylon strings on it. He didn’t have a high E, and had to duct-tape the tuning pegs in place.

I've had my acoustic guitar for about 23 years and I used to sling it down the road without it tumbling and now that I finally have it sounding just how I want it, I try not to bump it on anything and I'm super careful with it LoL. I love the story how the Kinks got thier sound. I think it's really cool how Kurt got that tone!!! Thank you for sharing!
