@gjh4009 жыл бұрын
You can buy those, they're made by Rick Kelly - he's a luthier that has a shop in the Bowery in N.Y.C. He makes all of his guitars from wood sourced from old lofts typically once inhabited by artists -- that is one of his "pine tele's" probably built from jim jarmusch's loft.
@cyyytr0n9 жыл бұрын
gjh400 and that makes this guitar even more awesome
@DaviTrombela849 жыл бұрын
gjh400 I think you just sold a bunch of guitars here, bro! Please, take your commission from the money I am throwing on the screen.
@gjh4009 жыл бұрын
Davi Trombela haha, I wish --- I'm just a hardcore guitar nerd, I can't afford that dude's stuff, and I think it's overpriced -- the fact it came from some dickheads' loft should make the guitar cheaper, I mean pine? from some pampered artists' loft, pretty silly, I bet they play nice though. So do my guitars -- which are just mutts -- by the way -- saw a kelly pine tele on ebay for $4,300 bucks... soooo stupid, but they are nice -- make/modify your own.
@DaviTrombela849 жыл бұрын
gjh400 Yeah, that's way too much for me too. I do value the historical stuff, but nah. I am from Brazil, we have a bunch of good luthiers as well, and lots of beautiful, crazy tone woods people don't even know about, for a lot less money. Still, it's a very nice work!

@josiahgeorge638210 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. I believe it's a Rick Kelly custom made from old wood taken from buildings in NYC that were built in the 1800s. Steve Gunn playing it just makes it even better.
@gjh4009 жыл бұрын
Josiah George correct - it's a "pine tele" from jim jarmusch's loft.
@LiberTBo9 жыл бұрын
That Telecaster looks like its been thrown into the fire, sacrificed to the "Rock Gods" reborn and kindly placed into the hands of this wonderful group. Looks like and sounds like Kurt was pretty "stoned" in the midst of rambling, he had to ask, "what was the question"? Killer rock....Kurt has nothing on David Crosby, sometimes Dave had to be reminded where CSN was playing and the song set...What a nice man>>>
@nickklok49556 жыл бұрын

my guess is one with the paint and finish stripped off at home. you can use chemicals to strip the paint, or a blowtorch/heatgun which bubbles it up pretty nicely. but it can also burn the hell out of the wood, and it looks a lot like that. ask me how I know. either way, it's beautiful. along with everything in this video. especially those gorgeous locks
